New Ruger SR9C

I've got a sr9c too and it's a fine gun for the money. Thought about buying another one.

The SR9C is the '57 Chevy of semi-auto pistols. I got one when they first came out.
It's trigger is still a littie crunchy and I don't really love the grips but I shoot it as well as or better than my 13 y.o. CZ85B.
I put a set of Meprolight Tru Glo night sights on it and it spends it's nights in my bedside table.

I had two SR9c pistols that other folks talked me into selling, I still have an SR40 and I like it very much.

I really like the Ruger SR line of pistols. While they aren't the best pistol after made, they aren't priced like it either. They are pretty good at everything. They shoot well, are reliable, have good quality, fit my hand well, and Ruger has great customer service. All of this for an unbeatable price. These are one of the best values out there right now imo.

Love the SR9c. I've had it for 6 years and run around 4000 rounds down the tube with no malfunctions

I find the SRs to be like Toyota Corollas. They aren't sports cars or fancy with huge personality, but they just work

I was at the indoor range one day and when there was a break in the shooting the fellow next to me asked it I could help him out as he was having trouble just getting it on target at 20'. His gun was a new Ruger SR9c and he wanted to know if it was the gun or if it was him. I loaded up 5 rounds, moved the target out to about 30', and put all 5 rounds in the black. Made a mental note to definitely check one of these out as I loved the ergonomics, the trigger, and the sights of this compact 9mm. Bought one a couple of months later and have been extremely pleased with it!

You'll like Ruger customer service too, they take care of their customers. Of course, you may never need it. The Sr is a stout, reliable gun. It's hard to break one.

I posted many times that the biggest "con" of the SR9 is the fact that it is a major ammo waster. I really do not shoot it much. Why? because it is so mild to shoot. And no matter how much time lags in between sessions with this gun, I end up doing quite well. And I feel as if I should be shooting a 22.cal instead. It is a shame more folks do not get to try one of these pistols out. While I have not shot every gun out there, I would not hesitate to think that this gun will keep up with guns costing much more.

I just recently bought an American 9mm compact, which has worked out well so far.
But I wouldn't mind getting a SR40c or SR45.

It is my contention in every G2C praise thread that I'd personally rather spend a small amount of extra money and get a SR9c. For trigger alone, if nothing else.

My SR9c was a phenominal shooter for it's size, easy to carry and dead reliable. Hard to beat for the price (and for honesty I got mine early in their run so I paid significantly more for my SR9c and SR40c than they charge these days). I got rid of them to consolidate on Glock for my plastic guns for mag and holster compatibility but I sent my Rugers on to family who use them for CCW and love them.

My SIL had a SR40C. What a great gun. I shot hundreds of rounds out of it. Great ergonomics, accuracy, reliably. He traded it with some cash for a G19. IMHO a bad move.

Big mistake? Nah. I'm seeing them online new for $260, but your compact with the 17 round mag plus sleeve will feel and shoot almost the same.**

Then again if it's still there and in good shape it's a pretty good deal is think.

** Edit:. The compact might shoot better as I'm now recalling the compacts had a better trigger if I'm recalling correctly. I know my SR9c had a "Glock" trigger all my Glocks wish they had.

For the guy thinking about an Sr 40 c I absolutely love mine.
That little sucker shoots just as good as my Springfield XDM with longer barrels!
I keep thinking I should sell one of my 40 cals although it sucks to sell 40 cals right now as the market on them sucks, and yes I really like all my matching two tone XDM s which I have dozens of mags for I always think I should sell the Ruger sr40c but then every time I go to shoot them all it keeps kicking butt plus it's extremely carryable even for pocket carry

I don't like my SR9c as much as I liked my CZ PCR, but so far I just can't imagine a better CC pistol.
It's thin, light, small enough to easily hide but large enough to easier handle, points well for me, the sights are both good and snag-free, and the trigger is much better than I expected.
I still prefer a hammer-fired pistol, but in this case the action allows the trigger to be difficult to pull accidentally but plenty nice for its purpose.
It doesn't feel like a $1000 gun. But it feels much better than other $300 and $350 guns, and I could bring myself to carry a $1000 gun around in the woods or abuse it like I might a CC gun.

The Ruger SR series is a great value ..
a verygood pistol at a great price

Only SR I've shot is a friends .40. It shot like a 9mm. Very nice to shoot.

Only drawback for me on this lineup is the safety.
