Colt Series 70 .45ACP
Colt New Series 70 .45 ACP
Colt Trooper MK III .357 Magnum
S&W Model 28 Highway Patrolman

Neighbor's daughter was in town with her fiancee and the fiancee wanted to go shooting so I took him shooting. They are in town from NYC to get married. I told the kid weather permitting next time we would get to the outdoor rifle range. :)

Last week I went retro and installed a Parker Hale PH25C rear sight on this BSA MKII. I had tried the sight earlier, it was not tight in the base, and I had no idea what the clicks were. So I took it off and installed an International Rear. Later I found the PH25C has 1/8 MOA clicks, which more or less explains why nothing was going on when I rotated the knobs! I also found a way to squeeze the base and remove most of the slop. I had to install an even higher front sight base, the British must have used a step ladder to see their sights, they are very high above the barrel.

I also shot my Remington M700 in 35 Whelen. This rifle is extremely light for the caliber and I do not shoot it well. I hope it is me and not the rifle. I can say, it totally knocks me out of position each and every shot.

I try to be as rigid as possible behind my rifles and I want the things to recoil same way each shot, and ideally, return to battery with the crosshairs where I broke the trigger. I can do that with my Smallbore Prone rifles. I can see with the Smallbore rifles when they recoil "funny" the bullet goes in that direction. But this monster, I get moved around, the rifle comes off the rest, the rest gets moved, my elbow is knocked out of position. Sometimes the scope smacks my shooting glasses. Fun, fun, fun. Good thing I already have CTE or my brains would be getting damaged.

It has been just under 100F most of the time, and when the sun started peaking under the range roof, I decided to clear out before I burst into flames! I could have stayed an hour longer but it was not to be.

I ran a couple of dozen factory rounds through my brand new Kimber K-6s, 3” DASA revolver this afternoon. The wind was blowing so darned hard I couldn’t shoot as small of groups as I would have probably been able to shoot otherwise. But it seemed okay; I’ll test it again on a calm day.
One thing though – I’m going to have to find more hand-filling grips for it. I know, I know – the YouTube video makers claim a person can get 3 fingers on those grips. I can’t; my pinky finger goes underneath, and that makes full-house, 357 Magnum factory loads feel pretty rank.
I’d welcome suggestions for aftermarket grips for my new revolver. Thanks in advance.:)

Backyard range, so my data's a little skewed:

SAT:
REM MOD 7 in .260
Tikka T3X in .270
Ruger 77-22
Ruger RPR, rebarreled in 6mm SLR

SUN:
CZ75 Accu-Shadow lite from the Custom Shop
Les Baer Concept V 1911

Sounds like a bunch, but each is just a few minutes out the back door. The RPR was literally out the back door at 407 and 547 yards. Not done yet cause tomorrow night is my bi-monthly IDPA match, so more CZ75 action

Just yesterday

Me & a buddy older-wiser than me, and his trap machine (wheely bird?) took a new hunter out to practice trap clays w/ a borrowed pumpgun. Firing one shell at a time for safety purposes.
Always nice to intro a kid (16) to huntn' , shootn':)

Oh BTW the connect was right at 35%, several sessions still to come. He has the safety aspects:thumbup: down pat. And the mechanics of the shotgun , fairly well.

Took out 2 of my 1911 45's, and shot up a couple of boxes of ammo I reloaded in 2011. I have since changed molds for casting, so shot those up. The Springfield Armory is a blast to shoot, with the Burris FastfireIII on it.

Hi...
No shooting or reloading this weekend...had to do prep for a colonoscopy on Monday.

Hate the prep but it is a necessary evil.
Scope went fine...two miniscule poly's removed. Probably won't need another for five years according to the attending physician.

Shot almost a case of shells over the trap machine Sunday with the family. Split those equally between my 1897 Winchester and my BRNO sle, both in 12 gauge. Also managed a little trigger time with my 10/22 International, SA-22, and 190 Winchester. Mostly just plinking around at cans, shotgun hulls, and removing some pears from the pear trees. I checked the zero on my '06 yesterday, just fired 3 shots to make sure the peep was still set where I wanted it. Nice cloverleaf group at 50 yards, but I'd forgotten how hard the old girl kicks! That, coupled with the bruising from Sunday's outing, meant I couldn't hardly raise my arm this morning. Might try to get my 66-3 out and throw a few rounds at the 75 yd gong this afternoon, if it'll cool off a bit.

Two workers who were doing drugs, again. Nah. Couldn't resist.
My 870TB and my 1100 skeet.
