So I was casting the other night & decided I'd had enough of my Lee 4-20. I started looking around to put a Pro Melt 2, 120v, on a wish list for later & it appears everyone and I mean everyone is outta stock.

Midway - out of stock, no backorders.
Midsouth - out of stock
Grafs - out of stock
Natchez - out of stock
Brownells - out of stock

Has anyone heard anything? Just seems really odd that ALL those sites are outta stock.

And yes I kick myself every time I cast for not buying a v1 pro melt a few years ago when the get'n was good.

And to add another twist, looking at the RCBS web site & scrolling to Bullet Casting and clicking on the Pro-Melt 2 image returns a 404 error...for me anyways. I can't find a Pro-Melt anywhere on their site. Even using the search function.

Graf's shows 1 in stock. I found a used old pro melt on eBay. Parts are getting scarce at RCBS too.
I also have the Pro Melt , ladle only pot, and had to get it replaces when the cooling fan quit working.
Problem with the new ones is they won't fix them since they don't have any parts, all they will do is replace it if it fails inside of 2 years.
Save a search on eBay and you can find one of the old ones.

The Secret Bullet Casting Furnace – Waage K4757

Email`em, since they don't even advertise the Bullet-Casting Model -- good people

Not a bottom pour pot.

Interesting about the PM2. I'd guess we're going to have to call RCBS and ask them what's up.

I know they had supply and quality control problems due to the Chinese suppliers.

Better call and verify. OPlanet is notorious for not having stuff in stock!

I actually looked at optics planet before my OP and if you look at the fine print, it says estimated to ship in 13 to 22 days or some silliness. That tells me they ain't physically got one in stock but are more than happy to take my money until they do...no thanks.

I'd like to think they didn't discontinue it all together in such a quiet way. More like they're probably still having QC issues and/or supplier issues. Just makes me wonder if RCBS quietly asked retailers for them back because of issues.
Guess I'll have to keep my eyes out for a used promelt.

Easy, call them(RCBS) tomorrow.

Well there you have it above ^^^^^^^^^:)

Nice of them to notify the forum plus you get a 5%! Can't beat that!

Rcbs pro melt 2 still out of stock everywhere?
Have they discontinued it already?

Just my .02 and speculation (haven't looked) but I dont see anyone anytime soon getting PM2's back in stock with the current climate with chinuh and the wuflu and the <insert your reason here> situation.

I've since set my sights on a Master Pot from Magma when the time comes.

RCBS is closed. Covid19 shutdown. Their phone system is up, but transfers to work at home customer service, who cant do more than log your issue. Email goes unanswered. Plant (sort of behind Huntington's) is not producing or shipping anything.

Expect fewer RCBS products available, except those they totally outsource.

I wonder why they would pick now to have promotional rebates on their products when they are shutdown and have low inventory?

That same question has gone thru my own mind. It very well could have been an incentive for the various dealers to "stock up" when they were open for a while after the first shut down out in Ca. In other words, trying to bump start things. I know they're closed up, because I was shorted a part for my recent press purchase. I don't want to burden the dealer with the issue, but after quite a few long waits on the RCBS phone line... I was told they're currently closed up.

The white roof buildings are the RCBS plant. Huntington's is to the upper left, and the blurred out area is a vehicle towing and recovery business.

Their CS was open last Monday when I called to order some replacement parts for my Pro 2000. The parts arrived in the mail today, no charge. They're operating short days (9:00-1:00 as I recall), Mon-Thurs.

Along with all of the other things mentioned they have a rebate going on their products.

People that may have been looking at/thinking about something made by RCBS likely jumped on that discount and stock is pushed even lower.

RCBS has had inventory problems on the PM-II every since it was announced. It's one of the problems with off-shore production.

The first batch of pots was sent back due to not meeting standards.

Figuratively they are on the proverbial "slow boat from China".

Received a email from RCBS. Said they would not be available until fall. I guess that is why.
Anyone know how much the original pro melt sold for?
