i have never owned nor shot a pump 22 rifle before but been looking at these two and my lgs has these two instock! I like the feel of both as they fit very well but not sure which one is the best made most accurate 22lr?? so guys which one you like the best and why? thanks!

I have 2 572s. One for dedicated 22 short shooting and one for everything else.

I own a Henry pump 22. Magnum that is. I wouldn’t buy a 22LR Henry pump when used 572s can be had for $250.

Remington
As much as I like it, with it's better sights.
I also Love my Winchester 62A.

All I can say about the henry is nothing at all.

Remington, no question. The Henry action is too stiff for my taste. My 572 is also very accurate with its old Weaver 2.5x scope, where the Henry (I'm told, anyway) is only mediocre. The Henry's that I've handled seem a bit on the heavy side for a hunting rifle, with that big octagonal barrel. The 572 is pretty darn light but it's longer than most .22's, which some folks don't care for. But, by far the 572 has the smoothest action of about any pump gun I've ever handled. I sure do like mine!

Where at Earl? I haven't ever seen one around here for less than $400, and most run up to about $500. Matter of fact, I had to hunt for several years to find one locally that I could afford! Now, 552 Speedmasters on the other hand, are more common and I've seen them sell here for at or near that price.

Bought two off Gunbroker recently that ended up being about $220 purchase and after shipping and transfer were around $275 all told for each.

These were not mint nor the deluxe model but not bad either. Strictly shooters. Cleaned up nicely though.

There is currently one for sale in Central GA for $300. Once again it is not a Deluxe model nor in mint condition.

well guys good news I went and picked up that Remington 572 fieldmaster and just got thru cleaning the cosmoline out of it as this one I purchased new for $529 and wow what a gun I can't wait until tomorrow to get it out and sight it in! :)

Remington.

I love the lever action Henry rifles, but I am no fan of their pump gun.

I don't like the design of the stock. The Remington is simply a better gun to shoot.

Why don't you try both and see what you like. Henry makes a nice gun but their "pump" is a converted lever action and the cycling of the action is much heavier than guns designed as a pump. I like my Remington.

I grew up with a 572. It was always reliable and shot just fine. I hope your new one works out for you. It's nice to be able to shoot shorts, longs, and Long Rifles out of the same gun. Now a days, it would be mostly shorts and LR's.

yep I found my new love as I went out today and shot this one and sighted in the sights first then I put my 4-32 simmons scope on and now its deadly accurate using the Winchester m-22 ammo! going squirrel hunting in the morning :)
