That's a good point about ammo. Some guys shoot whatever is on sale or whatever. I like many guys test different ammo. Some guns are picky about ammo. Well we had a prove it thread. Some guys idea of accuracy as well as fair test vary a great deal.

I like the standard velocity cci's....a bit more spendy but much more quiet.....I have air guns that are louder.

To me this stupid stuff is really fun for me.....I do it with rim fire and put a bunch in my wagon with a 22 and off I go.....I do the same with center fire, I will workup 5 of a given recipe and see what happens....then out of the winners of that short test I will work up a batch of 20 and see whats what.

To me this is where the fun is....I sit down there with a ton of garbage and just have myself a ball.

Not applicable to the rim fire topic, just all the garbage I haul around when I am playing with this stuff.
Cool old Ford lawnmower. They've not made those for a while.

Very good point....for me minute of pop can at 50 is good.....the bench is currently setup at 100 for the bigger guns, and if I can hit a pop can at that distance time and time again I think it is good enough to be called accurate.

Another good point is just how do you shoot it......

For me it is a minimum of a setup like I have pictured....good solid bench, something to lock the gun into and take the loose nut behind the trigger out of the picture.

We are testing the gun, the ammo not me. My starting testing is at 100....I really don't think the temp, or pressure plays that much on even a 22 rimfire at that distance.....wind sure but not things like humidity.....I could be wrong however, just my thoughts on that part.

The Nylon 66 yielded a bit over 1,000,000 rifles over 30 years = ~ 33,333 rifles per year...

Still one hell of a lot of rifles in total and a long and successful run of 3 decades. That makes it a success in my books.
A lot of other rifles ceased production after only a few years.

And, I don't disagree that the other 2 rifles outsold it and are still around. They are great rifles.
