What distance is your .22 LR zeroed at?

I put a hole in a hole in an adult beverage can at 60 yards with my 10/22. With the same zero I hit a ground hog twice in my neighbors yard at a range finder measured 70 yards. I've since retired the .22 from varmint duty because its just not enough gun for some critters and went to a .223 with varmint tips

Auschwitz 141 with 6-18 BDC scope, 100. CZ 455, 6-24X, 50. 10-22 match, 50. 10-22 Sporter, 50. Savage 24, 35.

I say zero at 35yds should get you pretty good out to 100 or so with little holdover.
Try it before you doubt it!

Kimber 82 Custom Classic - I shoot CCI .22 Quiet almost exclusively - zeroed at 25 yards but I have made shots with a tad of holdover out to 50 yards with no problem. This rifle shoots everything well but the POI changes depending on manufacturer. The .22 Quiet is a very accurate round with very low report - excellent squirrel medicine.

I shoot mostly Tac-22 and zero my 10/22 at 50yds. That puts me about 1/2"-3/4" high at 25yds, which is nothing for what I shoot at. It shoots about 4-5" low at 100yds which conveniently, is where my duplex crosshair is located.

Yep, mine also.

For general use i like 25 yards, most folks have trouble seeing 22 caliber holes in a soup can at 50 and as we all know, 22 can plinking is a major spectator sport.

My 10/22 target rifle - 50 yards on the 8-32 Swift target scope.

My 10/22 folding lite weight plinking rifle - the red dot sight and under barrel mounted green laser cross on target at 25 yards.

The crossing sight / laser makes for a really interesting instant range estimator that is great for plinking. If the red dot is on top the target is closer than 25 yards and it will shoot lower than the red dot. If the green laser dot is on top the target is past 25 yards and it will shoot between the lower red and upper green dot out to about 80 yards where the bullet drop crosses the lower red dot. This makes ranging a target and hold over very fast and instinctive.

For fun my buddy and I will toss out a can and start blasing away at it with our 10/22's to see who can score the most hits. Putting a hole in an aluminum can isn't much of a challenge BUT if you hit the can right where it touches the ground you can really make the can fly... which makes the other guy have to constantly change their aim before they can get a shot off. I can really make cans fly because I can range them so easily with my crossed dots as the cans continually move down the range. This, of course, pisses my buddy off... and he knows exactly why I can range the cans so fast and accurately... BUT my buddy can't add a laser to his 10/22... because when I added the laser to my 10/22 he declared "That is the dumbest thing I have ever seen!"

I never thought about this until getting into small bore silhouette this year. My son’s rifles were zeroed at 35 yards for youth 3-P and CMP competitions. We took those rifles to distances of 60, 77, and 100 yards for silhouette distances and found 8-10 inches of drop at 100 yards. Got another rifle and mounted a 6-20x40 scope with target turrets so we could zero at 40 and dial in 60, 77, and 100 yard distances. Great way to learn ballistics

50 yards. There isn't enough difference at closer ranges to worry about with a 50 yard zero. Most of my scopes, all of them on 22's have multiple aiming points or turrets for longer ranges and it isn't hard to hit at 100 using one of them with a 50 yard zero. I even shoot at 200+ using them, but still use a 50 yard zero.

my daughter's cricket is 25yrd zero.

Most of my 22's are zeroed at 50 yards..... Although some are almost exclusively used by a couple of step grand kids on a small 25-30 yard back yard range at a friends place. Those get zeroed accordingly. Like the Cricket of Jerry's daughter, but in my case it's a Savage Rascal that's right on at 25 yds. with that nice peep sight.

Yeah that may be a one of a kind. Generally 50yds but I have several sighted at 25yds with CCI Quiet or Super Colibres. For 4 legged varmint control in my "hood" backyard. The 2 legged ones know to stay out.
