Got one too.
A sweet 1946 20 Ga. that someone in the past returned for Ithaca's Raybar sight.
Still has a damn fine Ithaca buttpad and that pretty grip-cap.

Loves me sum fine, sweet handling Featherlights!

We had a couple-few Ithaca 37 Trench and Riot guns in our arms-room in the Army. I preferred the 37 Riot with a European style slip-over sling (usually made by the Riggers) over EVERY other trench or riot option available. They were wonderfully easy to maintain a sustained re-load on the go from loose shells in your jacket pocket.
You either build up one hell of a left pinky/ring finger or initiate early onset arthritis in it though. They'd also cycle handily one-handed.

An absolute PREMIER HD or assault shotgun.

My Rem Model 17(same gun all steel) circa 1922 has bagged: ducks, pheasant, squirrel, Grouse, Woodcock, Quail, and chukkars in her 97 years. It functions flawlessly.

I’ve never heard of an “ultra” but my featherweight “deluxe” has killed a truckload or 2 of small game since around 1972. In the early 80s I happened across a deer slayer barrel for it at a gun show and it’s amazingly accurate with Forster type slugs.

Kingcreek the Ultrafeatherlight was made with a aluminum alloy
receiver and trigger plate. The barrels had a lighter contour.
The 20 gauge guns came in at under five pounds depending the stock
wood.

With that duckbill shot diverter that may or may not have actually worked. Never got a good word on that. If it worked they need to start putting them on any defensive shotgun that would be firing buckshot.

In his book, he describes testing the duckbill choke stateside when it was developed, and said it worked very well. In fact, after shooting it, he begged to take it. He found it extremely effective in Vietnam, and carried it on many missions...ambushes, prisoner snatches, etc.
He used #4 buck. Yup, the same #4 buck a lot of folks look down on now.

First shotgun I ever hunted with was a borrowed Model 37 20 gauge with a plain 26" barrel. Used mainly on upland game and that gun had the slickest action of any pump shotgun I have ever come across!

Top is an Ultralite that was turned into a deerstalker (20 gauge 3") from a LVPD Stake out surplus.



Top in image below of sweet 20ga trio is my Ithaca 20 gauge 2 3/4" modified choke fFeather light from 1963 that was bought for my 1962 Christmas when I was 16 .

I saw an older one with the long full choke barrel and the "corn cob" fore end at Cabela's in KC on Monday.

My Ithaca Model 37 was made in 1949. I’ve owned it for 2 years. It shoots like a dream. The action is unbelievably smooth.

My very first shotgun was a 37. I added a pistol grip/ folding stock and still have it 40 years later.

Bought a very pretty nickel plated 37 with a composite stock that remains in my collection of unfired weapons.
(Call it "a complete set of spare parts".)

Anybody play poor man's skeet where you eject a shell up and shoot at it?
