My serious 25/50 yard bullet is the Nosler 185 JHP.
My practice load was the Rainier 200 grain plated SWC, but they are no more.
The coated 200 grain SWC's aren't as reliable as I'd hoped, yeah, tried different OALs, charges.
Xtreme 185 plated FP's were underwhelming. (least accurate 45 bullet I've ever tried)
Berry's 185 plated SWC are good. (button nose SWC's seem to feed better for me)

Looking for a new 185 or 200 grain practice bullet.

Anyone tried the new RMR 200 grain plated RN?

Missouri 185 coated button nose?

Any other 185 JHP's?

Don't want to spend $400 just to get a good price per bullet.

I have been using the RMR 200 grain plated round nose for the last year or so. Either 4.0 or 4.2 grains of Bullseye work great in all five of my 1911s. Never a problem when loading or shooting these loads.

MBC BE #1 200gr LSWC is my most accurate at 50 yrds. I use their #2 for 25 yrds 185gr LSWC. I get better accuracy from plain lead vs coated.
I’ve always used cast lead in this bullet weight. This is in a Single action revolver, my 1911 is pretty much the same. Indoor range 50’.

Button nose is no problem in my USP or Government model.
Is it just me or does it seem like the affordable 185 JHPs are suddenly out of stock everywhere?
For now I ordered some Berry's 185 plated SWCs, $.16 apiece delivered not too bad. My guns shoot them well at 15 and 25 yards.
That will keep me rolling until I can find some Zero or PD JHPs.
Thanks all

I use the Xtreme plated 200gr RN with 5.2 gr of Bullseye. I plan to work on some some loads with BE-86 and WSF with this bullet.

I shoot a lot of cast 200 grain swc. If the coated doesn't please you, try the traditionally lubed ones. I have also happily shot the Berry's 200 grain played rnfp over 5 grains of bullseye.
