Picked up my new rifle today. Still have to get my license. My leg is much better now. Not mad I missed the open but will definitely join you guys up there soon.

Yep if it's less than 0 I ain't going. Hunt to enjoy myself. Freezing my toes off ain't enjoyable. No way lol

It was 19 this morning when I hit the woods. Saw plenty of signs, a flock of turkeys but no deer. Oh well, maybe tomorrow. It was real crunchy no way to move silently.

I didn't see any deer when I was driving around today, I did drive by the state land were I won't to hunt and there was only one car at 9:30. So that's good for me.

Saw more vehicles in the state lands todayvthan I have in several years. One spot had a fifth wheel taking up the whole parking area.

Remington model 7 - 7mm08.
About 45 yards, one shot dropped in her tracks. We got her hung up and took the hide off.

Good size to her I see that snow is sticking around. 7-08 is about perfect for deer.

I reloaded some ammo for him Thursday. Nice pass through shot with very little damage to the meat.i had a nick buck sneak up right behind me around 7:30 this morning. No time to get the rifle on him.

Where i was sitting they cross the road right there. I an not that far from the road, maybe 60 yards. A car just drove by and he was right there. Maybe this afternoon. We are going to get some pizza over at the Ninevah store then get back out.

I sat out for three hours, i got busted again. I heard the deer snort a few times, never seen it. My brother has a doctor appointment in Endicott so I will go with him and visit my sister while he goes to his appointment.
Then I need to hit up a store to buy a few things to start making some jerky out of the doe he shot yesterday.

I got out to work this morning. I didn't see any deer there. On a kind of funny note my boss got a ticket Sunday evening, Dec got him for riding his four wheeler with a loaded gun, cost him 150.00.

I felt a little undergunned Saturday. Had my 223 and ran across a set of bear tracks, with coyote tracks in a major deer run. After that I took my 7mm08.

Ya I know that feeling, I've killed a bunch off deer with a 222 but you want something more.

It gave me an uneasy feeling knowing that yogi was about. 60 gr partitions and my 9mm didn't make the feeling abate.
