After reading the interesting thread on owning multiple guns in the same caliber, I got to thinking of my 1911s in an opposite vein.

Several different calibers in the *same* gun.

In this rack I have Colts in; .22 .38 Special, .38 Super, 9x19, 9x23 (Winchester), .45 & 10mm.

Aside from wildcats, I think I've read of .380 full size 1911s and had a Largo Llama once as well... Mighta been a Star though. I pal has a .455 I've been after for some time too.

Oh yeah, I'm sure some weirdos out there have one in 10mm short or 10mm kurz.

I should think some folk have a passel of differently flavored Blackhawk Rugers and maybe some Redhawks too.

I thought you meant like the medusa m47 (25 different chamberings in one crazy revolver). It didnt do well.

IMO, it would have. If the company actually made more of them. Incredibly interesting design as well.

Closest I will get to this list is having platforms I like. Might end up with a 1911 in 10mm. Have one in 45 as a safe queen and will get another 45 for carry shortly. Walther polymer frames full size. I have one in 40 and will have one in 9mm this week. Next is 45. Which is all they make right now.

Just the usual multi-caliber options like 9mm. in my .38 Super and a .22 conversion for a 1911. I do remember an article in Guns and Ammo where the author had 5 calibers in one gun: (.45 ACP, 38/45, .38 Super, 9mm., and a .22 conversion). I believe this was done on a Colt Government in .38 Super with a Combat Commander slide in .45 ACP.

I own 11 pairs of guns that are identical (or near identical),,,
One gun is .22 LR and the other matching gun is chambered for a centerfire cartridge.

Some of them have minor differences like the sights,,,
My Model 34 has adjustable real sights.
My Model 36 had gutter sights,,,

But recently I bought a pistol that gives me three near identical guns in three different chamberings.

Beretta Cheetahs:
.22 LR (model 87)
.32 ACP (model 81)
.380 ACP (model 85).

I planned the rimfire/centerfire pairs,,,
The Cheetahs were inadvertent.

For a brief time I had 870 Express's in both 20 and 12 ga. Years ago I traded the 20 gauge for a Mossberg 500 in the same cartridge though.

Remington Model Sevens: .223 Rem, .243 Ackley, 7mm-08, 7mm RSAUM; used to have a .308 as well.

I'll bet someone here has an extensive list of Remington 700s ...

I hadn't thought of something as ubiquitous as a 700 or a 94 Winchester. Now that you mention it, I do know fellas with surprising numbers of calibers in the same platform for each.
Savage 99, Marlin 94.....

I've always had a strange attraction to multi-caliber guns, kinda think of them as the gun version of an erector set. Mix and match, before long you have a different gun without all the expense of multiples. Guess AR-15's could be considered in that category as well, simply pull the pins and change out the uppers.

1911’s from .177 caliber CO2 powered, to .308 Winchester and lots of stuff in between. Maybe only #2 to the Contender, rifles and pistols on the same frame, as far as choices go.

Hmmm...

Win 94s in .30-30 (3) and .44 mag.
Rossi 92s in .357 and .45 C
Henry levers in .22 mag and .22 LR (2 of these, youth and standard)
Single six convertible in .22 mag/.22 LR.
1100s in 12 trap and a 12 field, 20 ga, .410 bore.
BPS in 16, 20 and 28ga.
K-frame S&W in .38 (2), .38/.367 (2) and .22 LR.
1911 4” and a 5” in .45 ACP and 1911 6” long slide in .45 Super.
Very similar:
Marlin 336 in .35 Rem and .1895 in 45/70.
Taurus 94 in .22 LR and 941 in .22 mag.
Glock 19, 34 and 17L in 9mm.

Sometimes a bit of familiarity is fun .

Stay safe.

Closest I have is three Glocks in 9mm, .40 S&W, and 10mm. All are different frames and sizes. But I could buy barrels in .357 Sig, and 9mm for the G35. And I have a .40 S&W conversion barrel for the G29, so it's 10mm and .40 S&W with no need to change magazines. You can also fire .40 S&W in the stock 10mm barrel as well.
