(2) of my ARs have Geissele triggers so I'm perfectly willing to spend the money for good triggers if needed, but for my budget blasting AR with a mill spec trigger that needs to be replaced, I'm looking for something less expensive.

Two stage is something I'm used to so I would rather keep it, but I'm not at all opposed to crisp single stage triggers.

Looking for the best trigger in the $50-100 price point. Cheaper the better.

Geissele G2S (a little over $100)
LaRue MBT-2S
Rock River Arms 2 Stage
Hiperfire EDT (if you go single stage)

Well I have several different triggers.

The one I would avoid is ALG QMS. It was too heavy for my liking.

However I like ALG ACT trigger and hammer.

Another one that I like is Hiperfire Sharpshooter.

Being a cheap, er, frugal person (yeah. I like the sound of frugal) this past weekend I installed a 4# J P spring set on the stock trigger and hammer that is in a rifle build kit from PSA. It made a noticeable improvement with the trigger pull. It isn’t a crisp let off as is in higher priced triggers kits but it is a favorable change in this gun.

Rise gets mixed reviews. But when I found one for free I decided to try it out. I haven’t had any of the problems discussed on other forums. It breaks at 3.5 lbs and is easy to disassemble and clean/lubricate. I believe they run around $80.

I’ve used all the expensive ones and I’m still partial to the Geissele sd3g but the last several builds I’ve done have used simple mil spec triggers that have the fancy slick coatings or treatments and they feel pretty dang good.

Thanks everyone. Looks like LaRue is probably the best choice for me based off of your responses and some additional reading I've done. I'm pretty comfortable with 2 stage triggers So for the most part, it would seem to be between the RR trigger and the LaRue one.

I think the Larue MBT is a solid trigger that covers a lot of bases. I've been running one for a couple years and have had no issues with light primer strikes, and is holding up well.

I have had a Velocity trigger in my SPR style AR for a few years, and have been quite pleased. I recently picked up a LaRue MBT-2S Straight Bow trigger for a Grendel build, and I have to say, I'm very impressed. First stage is 2 lb, and second is 1.5 lb with a clean break. For $87 this definitely won't be my last LaRue trigger.
