Rainy weather here on day two of firearm season. I'm in plan B mode in my pop up blind overlooking a soybean field.
I have a better signal today.
Not as many bucks pass through this upland timber but I'm in the dry about 3/4 mile from the house. 15745126700525999104714771529748.jpg as you can see....I'm really roughing it....I forgot my danged peanuts.!
My cheapo Remington folder is actually a decent knife . Mrs has one on the visor of her f150.

After I listed my carry, then read all of the ensuing posts it occurred to me that I didn't tell the entire story since my work day is on the water on a small skiff...

In addition to what's in my pocket in the way of a one handed blade I do have at least three fixed blades (mostly Forschner or Chicago Cutlery) within hands reach on the boat - for various fish cutting applications. My two big blades (both Forschners) are very carefully stowed in my tow vehicle since all of the fish cutting for customers occurs back at the ramp...

No weapons at work; I'm required to be completely defenseless. However, now that I'm home and working in the garage, and almost any other time, SAK One-Handed Trekker w/ 1/2 serrated blade.

I' really surprised at how many people are carrying multiple knives.

It's a habit I got into decades ago, honestly. My old man carries a Buck 110 only. He's a man who works with his hands and uses that old folder for cutting perforated pipe, duct tape, or digging mud out of his boot tread before getting in his truck.

Myself, I like options. I usually carry an EDC that gets used for general purposes, like my Ultratech. Part of why I bought it was pride of ownership. I'll use it, but I'm not digging mud out of my boot treads with it.

That's also why I carry a beater at work on the job. I dont mind mucking up a $25 Spyderco (got it on clearance marked down from $49 at walmart). Good for those "can I borrow your knife" moments.

I always, always, always have a MT on my person. As a contractor like my old man, I always like to have a small tool set on my person for likes unexpected problems.

I could be lured by that view.

Blue Native 5 lightweight with the CPM-S110V blade. Been carrying this one a lot over the last few months, and really dig it.

A butter knife.
It's breakfast time here in CA.
Man, sounds like some of you guys carry enough iron to require industrial grade belts and suspenders. lol

I tend to minimize, even converted my front door lock to a keypad so I don't have to carry house keys.

A light, slim Leek is all I carry.
Two is one, one is none and I got blades for all kinds of reasons. All of them shave and I got work. From wiring, to eating, cleaning food to carving I’m not stopping to go find a tool. 7 days a week.

Microtech Ultratech hip pocket always
My own handmade Kanmuri-otoshi tanto left belt, or my forged utility tanto with black walnut handle
And testing my three(for sale), kaiken side mounts to insure positive retention this week.(Strong hold, no loss, superb draw)

yes, I make shanks, shiv's and knaf's for EDC, or whatever I'm asked for.

The 7" kanmuri - otoshi blade tanto is my EDC. Combat boot leather wrap over black walnut, held on with forged nails and Artillery collar backing device
The wooden saya tanto is forged san mai, a beater EDC utlity knife.
Kaiken's are just wicked sharp EDC/Barbecue Knaf that are tough, shaving sharp, and will definitely cut.
I dig that home wrapped number. That’s my style.

My old,(1984), Victorinox Officier Suisse is in the right hand pocket of whatever pants I have on and today, just "p***antin'" round the place, the Coast FX416 that I got at Home Depot some years back. Yeah, it's heavy but it clips into that right leg pocket on the bibs nicely.

anything with a blade

Wow, that's a really strict policy. I can even go into the local federal building with everything in my photo but the Benchmade.

They have a piece of tape on the inspection counter that is used to measure blades. Anything under 2.5" is not considered a weapon.

The LST is 2 5/8" but they give it a pass. The inspection guy also carries an LST.
