interesting this one looks in nice shape
i think i check these out in the past wonder if they are collectors items now i haven't seen any of theses floating around
850$
For sale is my Egyptian Hakim rifle chambered in 8mm mauser. This rifle is in great condition and works perfectly. The bore looks new with no pitting. It comes with a spare gas adjustment screw and gas tube. It also comes with a gas screw adjustment tool. The gas adjustment screw is a particularly hard to find part now days so it’s good to have a spare.

My Dad has one. Built like a russian tank. Clunky, tough, heavy, functional. Definitely a manly mans gun.

If you dont mind paying for and reloading 8mm, they are fun.

Really, really wished Id picked up a Rashid years ago before the internet educated the collectors on how rare they are.....

I wish I picked up a Hakim when they were brought in back in the 90s. Nice matching ones were 200 bucks or so. Same with a Russian SVT40. Oh well. I do have a nice matching Rashid though to go with my SKSs. That "sling mount" on the bolt cover is a shell deflector.
Uhhhh.... pretty sure its primary function is as the charging handle?

I was one of the guys who DID NOT buy them when they were in pickle barrels for $135-$185.

They were plentiful (generally) and cheap but the ammo wasn't at all common and so.... I found a great many other MilSurps to take more seriously.
Fired several and all were Krag-smooth, easy recoiling and all 'round fun within the cost of ammo for Emlisted Men back then.

Oddly, now ammo is relatively cheap, the guns are expensive and I STILL look at the cost and easily find a full dozen or more guns I'd rather buy. Though not the wide variety of MilSurps as back in the day.

Hindsight kicks me often for not getting; Johnsons, SVTs, Hakims and the like and just packing them away. Especially those .

Todd.

Great rifles my dad must of had 10 or more and it's cousins. They were about 5-600 last year when I looked. They may get some kicked out of ranges.

We had a fellow that shot one in our monthly NRA HP matches. I had to squad him on the high end of the line because other competitors refused to shoot next to him due to the muzzle blast and you didn't want to intercept one of the cases ejected by his rifle. He didn't do too badly score wise as I recall.

Regards,
hps

Ya dad's ones shot great. He had one that was extremely accurate.

No, watch the vid. You can't pull the bolt back and let it fly like most semi autos. Primarily it's a deflector. IIRC there was a piece of rubber tube over it also but most don't have it.
Perhaps, but even the gentleman in the video uses it as a charging handle several times. Also, it may be possible to manipulate the dust cover and bolt quite easily when the hammer is cocked but I defy anyone to charge a Hakim with the hammer down using only those little serrations......

Ahhh either way I wish I had picked one up. Now I'll have to dig the Rashid out. I haven't shot in at least 10 years. I have a nice paratroop SKS that gets most of the attention of that style rifle.
Haha, if you dont shoot the Rashid, you may want to think about selling it. They are going for crazy $$ these days!

I got mine so long ago I paid under $100 for it. Strictly a shooter. I had a bunch of 8mm corrosive I wanted to shoot and figured that would be fun way to do it. I've been buying ammo ever since.
