To be honest, we seem to have three groups when it comes to coats. The true second or third generation native put on a Parka when the temperature drops below 70. Those of us who have only lived down here for a few decades try to find a jacket or over-shirt when the temperature drops below 50 and the Winter Texans that are out swimming when it gets over about 45.
I was in Phoenix, AZ in January around 6 years ago. It was 70 degrees, so was wearing cargo shorts. I live at altitude and in northern snow country.

People in winter attire were looking at me like I was crazy. Made me laugh.

Had a S&W 642 in my right front pocket loaded with Speer 135 gr short barrel ammo. It’s funny how different peoples tolerance of temperature and weight can be based on acclimation.

So far only pocket carry works for me. In jeans or anything with smaller front pockets, it'll be a S&W 37 Airweight in a Blackhawk pocket holster. In cargo pants or bigger pockets, it's a CA Undercover or Police Undercover in a DeSantis Nemesis. The straight 5-shot Undercover is the current favorite.

Occasionally I work in the G43 in a Nemesis pocket holster. Like the revolvers better for some reason.

The few times I've carried OWB, it's either the G43 or a Shield 40.

It's true, I to live in the northern climes and while I'm not particularly crazy about 20 below temps I absolutely can't stand 100 degrees.

I'm with you. Grew up in the upper Midwest, lived in Western Alaska for a while. Don't mind the cold, cannot stand the heat. I start getting ornery when it gets over 85, especially if it's humid.

Don't tend to wear long sleeves if it's over 65, light jackets over 50, coats over 35-40 and don't take out my good winter coat until single digits

I left Wisconsin 15 years ago for a reason man. Humidity, mosquitoes, black flies, and ticks are optional.

My grandparents had a farm in Michigan's U.P. 20 below and I never saw grandpa in anything other than long-johns, flannel shirt and a blue-jean jacket.
As for the mosquitoes, black flies, and ticks, I don't mind them, keeps the woods people free. ;)

When I moved back to Wisconsin I headed north and it's much nicer up here (than in the Madison area). Summer rarely gets warmer than 90 for more than a day or two, my neighborhood is reasonably breezy from the water so the skeeters aren't usually too bad (and non existent on my porch rocking chair), black flies are not an issue and ticks only bother the dogs if they go in the woods.

Sure it gets a bit chilly in the winter and we got like a million feet of snow last winter, though we tend to miss the worst of the big storms for whatever reason, but I've got warm gear and a good snowblower and a couple 4 wheel drives.

Favorite, either a Smith 642 or 37-2 DAO, interchangeably. Close 2nd, Sig P238HD. I have larger and more powerful but in my lifestyle, the ones mentioned actually get the call.

Glock 27 concealed in a crossbreed supertuck vast majority of the time. Or, very rarely, a 226 in a jackass rig under a coat.

Open depends on what im doing. Can be anything from a Smith 29 to a Fiveseven.

Jar and Deus are in Florida and Deep South Texas coats probably aren't a thing for them

Yeah, a blazer is part of the mandated uniform.
When meeting with a family.
I was born in the midwest. As soon as I'm back in the van, or dealing with a service call without family present, I'm just in the button-up shirt. That blazer is not staying on the ten months when it's 90+ in both temperature and humidity.
I even have an undying hatred for ties; a proper tie only gets in the way and is a danger when doing any actual work. I compromise with a clip-on. Being able to remove it quickly is a godsend sometimes.
Heck, my concession to the heart of the winter is to actually wear an undershirt.

And since I'm all of 135 pounds, wearing a shirt big enough to conceal with it tucked just looks sloppy. So unfortunately if I need to transport while I'm in work clothes, a J-frame is about the biggest I can manage.

Interesting how different dress can be state to state. I’ve been to funerals where people wore jeans.

Family gatherings are very casual, especially now that all the grandparents are gone. Changing times.

I was in the Army for a good portion of my adult life. I got used to wearing a T-Shirt and BDU top daily. Since I've been out of the Army almost every job I've had required me to wear a uniform that had a T-Shirt and an over shirt. So, again, I'm used to it. I also live in Colorado where that look really isn't out of place even in the Summer. In fact I look more out of place in the winter because instead of wearing a big, heavy parka I layer up from the inside and usually wear a pull over fleece.

I said all that to say that I don't have a hard time concealing a full sized (CZ75B/S&W 4006) handgun in my normal clothes and even less difficulty with my usual Glock 19.

I'm sorry

Why be sorry?

I say I have two guns that I carry but practically speaking I really only have one, also a Glock 26. I don't carry because I think it's cool, I don't carry my gun as a fashion accessory and I don't have a "carry rotation". I've actually had to defend myself and my direct personal experience is that when it's hitting the fan for real I don't have the free space in my brain to be worrying about which gun I'm carrying.

If (God forbid) I ever have to do that again I want the odds as heavily in my favor as I can possibly make them and I want to eliminate all the variables I can.

Lately, my favourite has cycled back to my Walther PK380. I normally wear it with an Outlaw Kydex OWB holster.

I realize the PK380 is a bit of a controversial choice. However, it has a lot to like. Things that come to mind are a mid-size 380, not some micro, hammer-fired, paddle magazine release, a safe way to lower the hammer and have the first shot double action. Yes, there are things I would like to see different, however, for all it is derided, it is a pretty good gun.

You shouldn't be sorry for me, who said beware of the man with just one gun?

Was just a joke guys. Lighten up a little :)

If you are the man with just one gun..........you made a good choice......................... the G26 has been the ultimate sub compact double stack 9mm since 1995
(I have one and carry it often, very concealable&very capable)

What is your favorite gun to carry both open and concealed?

I cc a Walther PPS IWB, and sometimes a S&W 442 in pocket in a pocket holster. Recently got a M&P shield which I like but have not shot it enough to trust for everyday carry. Don't much carry open now that we live in town, but when I did it was a 4 inch Smith Mod 29. (we lived in bear country)
