$30 for a 50 ct box. That doesnt sound right... that's .60/rd. That seems really high for wal mart. I havent bought .45 ammo in a while but I have seen it wal mart for not that much more than 9mm sells for, at least as far as FMJ goes. I'm pretty sure their Premium HP isnt even that expensive for .45 at the wal mart near me....

Our Walmart is swamped with ammo to the point they're running out of places to lock it up and the display cases are full. Got brass cased 115 grain Federal 9mm FMJ today for $30.00/200 rounds(7.50 / 50 rounds/.15 cents/rnd). I'm told there will be another drastic drop before it's over. BTW, for the range $11.80 for 50 rounds of brass cased Remington UMC 130 grain 38 spl FMJ ain't bad either(23.6 cents/rnd). If anyone knows where to find it cheaper, I'm all ears.

Our Walmart is done selling ammo, not that it hurts me, I only bought 22LRs when they had them since I reload all my other ammo. But it's sad that they caved. I have cut back my trips to Walmart, cheap 22LRs was one of the reasons I went. I doubt they will miss my business since I didn't shop there much anyway. Will just order my 22LRs online.
 
I cant lie, I just bought 5 200rd boxes of winchester 5.56 for $245 in tax free NH. It will probably be the last time. I dont nessasarily agree with myself but I have ways of justifying things to myself....

I dont know if you have a Runnings near you but a store employee told me that the 555rd winchester boxes of .22lr go on sale oddly every month and a half to two months for $15.99. I think they are usually $24.99. Not sure why they do a sale in those intervals but he told me that like 8 months ago and so far he's been right....

How many times have I went to Wal Mart, in the ammo section, and waited and waited. Look on ammoseek and find the same price.
 
Had to go to the local WM the other day with my girlfriend who was getting some Christmas decorations for work. I wandered by the ammo counter and everything was normal. Same selection, same prices.

I understand how this country got into the shape it's in. Those on the other side of the political aisle will absolutely boycott retailers who don't bow to their ideology and go so far as to picket them.

Gun owners can't even be bothered to stop giving money to a store that came out as against the 2nd amendment and is actively giving money to anti-RKBA organizations.

It's sad.
 
The comment I saw on the official announcement was No Pistol or Assault Rifle Calibers.

I suspect that means no 5.45 Russian, .223/5.56, 7 62 x 39.

I'm assuming pistol was a non-sequitur and revolver ammo will be disappearing as well.
 
Out of curiosity, I did stop by the sporting goods counter just a few days ago at Wal-Mart. They had a 150 round box of Winchester made 9mm NATO, 124gr +p for $25. Yes I bought it.

Actually, most large companies generally do stupid things that accumulate until suddenly the corporation collapses. They manage to overcome such things because a small company would be killed by perhaps even one stupid mistake but enough retained profits exist in large corporations that the stockholders take the brunt until the money is burned through. Part of the issue is new leaders cannot leave well enough alone but seek to make their own mark using other people's money.

Sometimes a smaller, hardier company arises from the ashes but that it not how it usually plays out. Larger companies or government corporations have insulation via access to ready money. This insulation from the consequences of doing stupid things keeps them from correcting course until it is too late. GE is one such corporation that has disintegrated in the last few years, Sears is another one. Boeing seems to be heading down that road as well if they cannot address their corporate management issues. One such stupid decision is to abandon and drive away current customers for imagined grass is greener "better" customers. Another one is to cheapen the product relying on the magic of a brandname assuming that people are too stupid to realize it. A third such disaster is too much debt and leverage in a company. It is really no different than rich people or people with power can afford more stupid mistakes in life than poor ones.

That is one of the problems with monopolies or state owned businesses is that either situation keeps them in business when their combined idiotic business decisions should have caused significant damage resulting in firing of executives or bankruptcy to the corporation. It is similar to that of an aristocracy or ruling class when they forget any obligations to society and instead maximize their take of the loot. Eventually it all ends in tears.
 
I bought some 9mm Sig Sauer JHP and a box of 50 Remington 9mm FMJ at Academy where I bought my SCCY CPX2 earlier. Prices and selection were better than WM, plus the ammo is out in the open. No locked glass cases.
 
WWB 9mm , 200 rounds - $30.
WM wants to sell me brass cased boxer primed 115 gr fmj 9mm at $7.50 per 50 / 0.15 per round - I'm buying.
Where else can I find an entity that is a) anti gun , and b) willing to support me in shooting guns?
 
Winchester and Federal 9mm was 15 cents a round. I was tempted. I have so many components waiting on my time off that I passed. If it was summer I'd have grabbed a bunch. WM wants out, if the price works for you then help them out.
