October-November 2019 Bolt action military surplus rifle 10 shot challenge

So it occurred to me I do have another surplus bolt action. It’s just not one I think of for this type of thing.

I have a Spanish Destroyer carbine that was originally chambered in 9mm Bergmann. I had it rebarreled and chambered in 9x19. I thought it should make a dandy suppressor host. I understand there were some factory-chambered 9x19 guns, but they are much less common.

I find the factory magazines don’t feed the shorter cartridges all that well, but a 9mm 1911 mag will work if you cut a catch in the rear of the magazine.

I was shooting some 147 gr. bullets with mixed brass and was my only attempt. I suspect I could do better with a little work, but I don’t know that I’ll get out to do it before the end of the month.

Actually, I’m pretty happy I got all 10 hits on paper, although one outside of the scoring zone. I really wasn’t sure where to be for elevation, but a dead-on hold seemed to get me pretty close. This actually wasn’t much worse than my Enfield.

It’s a fun project gun, but if I were to do it again I would just buy a Ruger 77/357 and thread it for a silencer. It would be easier to mount optics, and I could shoot much heavier subsonic bullets.

Not the best I've done with this M1917, but I only did 5 shot volley before. Looks like some other rifles this one also when it gets warm impact area changes, last four shots went low. I did this target like 3 or 4 weeks ago. Not going to be able to do more before the end of the month.

Lots of people think that mosins are inaccurate, especially the M44. I am not one of those people.

This rifle made me laugh out loud the first few shots with massive amount of leaves kicked up by the muzzle blast. I am actually surprised they didn't catch fire!
there were actually two classes, class 1 iron sights, and class 2 with optics, need to confirm i your entry was iron or optics please

Alright friends thanks to all who gave entries, I have some thoughts to say on this according to the vid at the beginning listing the "top five most accurate milsurps". I think they were mostly correct. They listed the Argentine 1891 as one and while it can be a accurate milsurp many kinds of Mauser can be made by either Germany, Czech or FN, in whatever various cartridges be it 7mm, 7.65. 8mm ect.

While many types of milsurps can be accurate it is true from what I have seen that USUALLY the Mosin M39, Swedish Mauser in 6.5 and Swiss K31 or 1911 are most often among being, maybe because of the cartridge or maybe because some models didn't see heavy use before being put on the civilian market.

I have a lot of bolt action surplus rifles I didn't get a chance to show results and test yet, I plan on doing some more and adding later to this thread for the sake, feel free please to do so also even though the official contest is over.

final top scores are
class 1 LK with a Finnish Mosin M39 score 98-1X
class 2 with optics Merle with a Yugo Mauser 24/47 score 90-1X
