Gun show find

Yep, the cheapo Mosin days are long gone. That’s not a terrible price for one now. It’s just a tough pill to swallow for those of us who did buy one (or more) for less than $100. Same goes for most things though, not just rifles. Matter of fact on Thanksgiving my dad was over and was reminiscing about his $20 Ithaca 20 ga. pump he bought as a teenager.

Cool rifle. Enjoy

View attachment 875088 View attachment 875088 Went to the Dixie gun show in Raleigh,NC last weekend, and found this 1942 91/30. Actually bought it because of the laminated stock, but discovered it was matching numbers when I got it home. I remember when you could buy these rifles for $50-$60 a few years ago. This one was $250; times have changed.

Times have changed but $250 isn't bad compared to what some are trying get for one. Gunbroker there are SOME sellers trying sell a run of the mill 91/30 for $400 plus the shipping plus the fact that you probably have a transfer fee which approaches $500 after said and done.

$250.00, depending on the condition I would get another also, still a fun rifle for the money.

Took it to the range today, and was hitting Sporting clays at 100 yards pretty consistently. Sights were really close with the Tula ammo I was using. I’ve got components to load 7.62x54, and I’m interested in seeing how accurate this rifle is. The bore is in really good shape, especially for a 77 year old rifle.
