Multiple calibers in the same gun....

I've always had a strange attraction to multi-caliber guns, kinda think of them as the gun version of an erector set. Mix and match, before long you have a different gun without all the expense of multiples. Guess AR-15's could be considered in that category as well, simply pull the pins and change out the uppers.

What is the situation with a 41? Are multiple calibers an option there too... maybe Short?

Todd.

Hi...
Multiple calibers in the same gun?
I have a S&W M&P in .40S&W and a drop in barrel in 9mm.

I do have BlackHawk revolvers in .357Mag, .45Colt, .44Spl and .41Mag. Super Blackhawks in.44Mag and .45Colt.
S&W N frames in .41Mag, .45Colt and .44Mag.

6.8spc and 5.56 in ARs
.256winmag and 30 carbine in Marlin 62
Phoenix hp22, hp25
Contender barrels .357, 44, 7-30 (will add 223, 6.8spc)
K/L frame revolvers in 38, 357
J frame (or copycat) revolvers in 22, 32swl, 327fm
Looking for a taurus pt100 or pt101 upper to go on my pt99. Have considered building a conversion barrel in 22tcm9r or .380

.327 fed mag is an interesting revolver to think about for this thread though. It goes mild to wild in a hurry and you don’t have to change a thing. 32sw is weakest, then 32swl, 32acp is probably after “long” because acp has a lot more power, but it’s uncontrollable in that long cylinder and there’s a lot of blow by in the cylinder. After 32acp comes 32h&r magnum and then 327 fed mag.

I had no idea a LeverMatic was made in .30 Carbine. What a GREAT white-tail brush gun. Took no small amount of them, one shot each, with surplus carbine when I was young. Always figured the LeverMatics were some of the most underrated lever guns ever made.

Your .327 observation is interesting too.

Todd.

I haven’t yet tried out the carbine on whitetail, but I can attest to the sheer destruction left by a .256 win mag. Place the shot right behind the point on the shoulder and your job of field dressing is not much more than “gutting” the deer and then dumping out the shredded chest cavity. I look forward to using the 30carbine though because a man can put together good ammo for it, proper length bullets for the .256 are almost nonexistent. Nothing compares to the original 60gr hollow points.

I don't even want to guess how many Ruger No. 1 a buddy has. Some of the highlights include .22 Hornet, 7.62x39, 30-30 Win, 30-40 Krag, .303 British, .38-55 Win, 405 Win, .44 Rem Mag and 9.3x74R. Those are just some of the ones that struck me as unusual. He has lots more.
.
The only one I've seen him hunt with is a .257 Roberts.

Some really nice pictures from Rembrandt!

When I read the title of this post my first thought was my Rock Island 1911 with three barrels: 9X19mm, .22TCM, and a custom fitted .38 Super

I have savage 99s in a few calibers.
Glocks in a few for no real reason.
Sig 220 in 10 and 45s but I bought them for specific purposes. Same with 1911s. The 45s were nice old guns while the 10s are hunting tools.
The little tip up berettas in a few calibers just to look at.
Savage 24 over and unders in a few combos just because I like them. I'm still hunting the perfect 223/12 guage though.

Of course the winchester 70/Remington 700/savage 110/10 etc but I wouldn't count those as that's not uncommon for people to have in a couple calibers.
