My friend at the local asked me yesterday if I could find out what cartridge was this Contender barrel chambered for.
It’s a Virgin Valley manufactured 20” barrel.

The only other markings on the barrel is 25 Classic.

The barrel is 25 caliber and for a rimed cartridge case.

I brought the barrel to work and casted it this morning with a rubber compound.

Gunny finally I can help you!!
Virgin valley went out of business in the mid 2000's they reorganized as Match Grade Machine and that is actually a wildcat caliber that they make using a shilen barrel if I read things correctly. Too bad the dies did not come with it though.

25-06 too hot for Contender. I agree with the variation on 25-35.
