Red Ryder adult?

Red Ryder adult ... Are they worth the extra $25 for just a longer stock?
Not to me, if I want any kind of decent accuracy.

I have 50 yard BB/pellet targets set up on our retirement property for me to shoot from back porch and enjoy shooting Crosman Legacy 1000 BB/pellet combo with cheap Bushnell scope (BB rated to 800 fps and I believe has same barrel as Crosman 2100). It is a fun BB plinker against soda/soup cans out to 25 yards with 4-5 pumps and 2 liter bottles out to 40 yards with 6-8 pumps.

For greater accuracy, I have Beeman Kodiak X2 with .177"/.22" barrels and Swiss Arms TG1. I have 2" steel bar targets from 25 yards out to 4" (double 2") steel bar targets at 50 yards angled down on the ground (so if I miss, pellets will go into the ground). I can consistently hit the 25-50 yard targets using Crossman hollow point pellets and paint steel bar targets with cheap $1 white spray can from Walmart.

I just shoot inanimate targets of opportunity.

Funny I want to get these air guns back.
Yes, they sure are fun. I only started back on BB/pellet guns due to recovery from surgeries before retirement earlier this year (I couldn't drive to my usual shooting spots) and couldn't believe how accurate they were compared to what I remember from my teenage years.

And for me, backyard shooting is about cheap plinking and BBs provide hours of fun defending the porch from invading zombie soup and soda cans (And it doesn't get any cheaper than shooting BBs with free soup/tomato cans as targets). And when I don't want to go shooting in the rain, metal cans and 2" steel bar targets allow me to keep having fun from back porch dry with comforts of home.

Dad ... will shoot bottle caps all day at 10 yards.
Wife drinks 2 liter bottles of diet soda and we toss the bottle caps in the trash as recycling/redemption center doesn't want them ... You just gave me another option for smaller targets. :)

I have a long stocked "Chief AJ" Red Ryder, and I prefer the regular shorter stocked version. The shorter stocked version is not super short like some Daisy models are, more of a mid length. It works out better for me when doing quick (s)kill shooting and is not uncomfortable when shooting more deliberately.

Especially when I'm wearing a coat......

I wonder how many dime tubes of BBs I shot out of one of those Model 25 Daisys? My Grandma bought it for me, first shot out of it from her back porch got a sparrow out off her peach tree. She had that look on her face like; “What have I just done?” I said; “Thanks!” and ran off to terrorize sparrows and starlings for years to come. I had already worn out a Red Ryder before I got the 25. We’d hunt for pop bottles and long neck beer bottles and sell them for the .02@ deposit just to buy BBs.

Same here! It was a bonus to find a big soft drink bottle- it was worth a nickel. In FL back then beer bottles were targets, no deposit on them.
