New glock coming

It's too soon for glock to get on the micro double stack train. History shows that glock is always years behind in releasing trending items. How long did we have the lcp, p3at, p238 etc, before we ever got a G42? How long did we have the shield, pf9, xds etc before we ever got a g43?

I'd say, look back to what was hot 5-6 years ago, and thats what we are gonna get.

Makes sense that Glock will not jump on a fad now, but wait. I give them points for that.

I appreciate the slow, methodical approach of Glock. I also appreciate the innovation, cutting edge approach of KelTec.

But when it comes to what I choose to protect myself and loved ones with it is an easy choice for me. :)

Our industry needs both spectrums and all those in between, there are so many good choices.

But it is quite funny "Glock Perfection 8.0"

But it could be argued that they were only created due to the success of the G26 and G27.
And and But but but
How long did we have a Glock before Smith copied it (and was sued for it) with the sigma or Springfield decided to import a mediocre Croatian gun?

And even sig, beretta, HK etc are pushing a better single trigger pull vs the old DA/SA. (Which I'm a fan of btw. Love the old 22x, beretta 9x and USP guns)

It also took 30 years for Sig and Springfield to side with Glocks 20 and 29 and make a 10mm auto.

And 50 years before everyone made an AR pattern rifle.
And 100 years before everyone and thier brother copied the 1911 (except Glock but maybe on the 10th who knows)

It could even be a gun that goes off when you throw it at a bad guy at certain angles like the p320 did (or didnt according to sig but they fixed them anyway.) Just playing Sig guys. I like my 320 too. Dang good shooter actually

20 years from now Sig and Springfield and Ruger AND Smith will wake up and make the ultra trendy 45 GAP. Lol

All gun companies gamble on new trends. And all gun companies "borrow" ideas. If not for borrowing of ideas from John Browning we might still be loading from the muzzle end. How many copied Ruger with investment casting?

I think it is funny that Ruger is suing Smith and Wesson, especially since they stole the P3at 380 from Keltec.

Not sure how to type it with my sneering tone, but... preeetty ballsy I must say.

ruger is the king of copy and paste, and I’m sure the money they spent to battle the t/cr22, is more than what that gun would have actually cut into their market of. I’d never even heard of it till now, now I want one.

ruger is the king of copy and paste,

I like Ruger. A lot actually. The blackhawks and Redhawks are among my favorite hunting arms. But considering they existed solely on a cheaped out SAA, a cheaped out nambu 22, a beefy but cheaped out S&W/ Colt inspired double action, a cheaped out M14 and a rather unremarkable 22 rifle I'd have to concur. At least historically. My hats off to them but other than manufacturing tech, and cost cutting they weren't terribly innovative for 50 years.

Five pages of speculation and discussion, a week and a half and the grand announcement still several days away.

This must be the slow time of the year for gun-talk internet-land ... Even Springfield Armory doesn't take this long to announce its new offerings ...

Marketing works, it has everyone talking about it good or bad.

I like Glocks and I really hope it is something new or different but historically they just roll out a "new" gun in a slightly different configuration.

But please be a PCC.

Lol, come on Old Dog, it's beats a caliber war. I am not a Glock Fan, do not dislike them or like them. But I love marketing! .

The buzz is that it's a PCC according to some supposed insiders...

If it is an actual Glock carbine, then it will be impossible to get one for the next year or so and prices will be insane. I have my Extar, which sells for $440 and is a wonderful little firearm. Very accurate, reliable, and handy. Most fun firearm I have. I'm guessing the Glock version will be similar in form and function, but MSRP will be North of $700 and go for $1000+ for a few months until Glock catches up to demand.

Springfield made a XD in 45gap. They were the only other company to make a pistol in 45gap.
Pretty sure Para Ordinance also had a couple of GAP pistols in their stable at one point.
