Rabbit box question

Years ago I use to use sliced up apples.

I don't remember using bait, but that was a loooooong time ago.

Sliced apples work well. A British friend calls a rabbit box trap a "hare gum".

I use to make live traps out of 1x wood with one end being wire the other end the swinging door held up in place with a bent metal coat hanger.connected to the pivoting pedal they step on and releast the door trapping them in. I would pile brush around it so it sorta looked like a small tunnel going into a brush pile.

I looked on youtube about live traps for rabbits and like the design with the door that slides down on the end instead of dropping down like hav-a-heart style like I use to make.
I will bring home some plywood scrapes from work and make a few to try out.

One of the videos I watched they put wire on the closed end and wire on the sides of the wire end.

Once done I will try them out and see how it goes.

They always seem to like the fresh sprouted green beans in my garden every Spring...

Be prepared to catch alot of possum's! Seems I caught more possum's and coons then rabbits.
