It's a later gun, has the fingers grove in the stock. There real good shooters and very strong. They had 2 bolt lugs. The only one I have left is the first month and first years production that my dad gave me. Grab it for $100.

It does say it's rifled? They made.a smooth bore, I had one there worth like 50% more.

These where the first bolt action Remington made for there self. Was designed by c.c Loomis. They came out in 32 to about 35 250,000 made. Mine the date code is 1931 in November I belive. Wish they had serial numbers.

Mine even shoots the aguila 60gr ss in to a 1/4 inch group at 25 yards it's what I use around the house. I shot 7 or 8 woodchuck this year with it.

That sucks they seem harder to find. I like that there the depression years gun. Think they were as low as $3 new. They can be fired quick for.a single shot. Get the rim under your finger nail and you can load them easier.

Seems like John Gyde said the 33 sold for $5 and there was an intermediate model for $7.50 and the 33 NRA Junior like mine sold for $15 and thus did not sell well.

I had what was left of one of these as a kid.
Dad had bought it at auction and hadn't noticed that it was a smoothbore.
He did his best to wrap it around a tree after missing three easy shots in a row... .
