New glock coming

I've never seen a Glock brand folding Glock. Everyone I saw was an aftermarket modification. But yes I agree it was a terrible thing.

Well..... I wouldnt want to be waiting on many big refinements.

That's nearly 40 years of "refinement".
Back to 1 trigger group pin. Back to no grooves. Back to straight serrations .....
It does have a rail and more friendly to a leftie I guess. Lol

Huh, here I thought all along that Glock introduced the "folding Glock" at a ShotShow a few years ago, but my searches show it's a company called M3 Concealed. I dismissed the idea right away so I never delved into it much. Ok, I'll continue thinking that the GAP was the biggest flub of Glock.

In refinements I should have said reliability. Guns chambered in .22lr, are a non-starter for me being the Guinea pig on as I already have reliable .22 pistols and I don't really need to first on the street with one.

Yeah, I actually played with one a year or so ago in a store in NC. I wasnt impressed. Didnt remember the name. It was a double stack though so it was still large when folded. Maybe the newer/smaller ones would be better. I dont shoot tiny guns as well so I havent been impressed with anything they have released since well before the GAP.

I love to sit back and see the funny things that some of y’all have posted, and also see how many that don’t know much about what they are talking about.
I’m not sure what they will revile. It could be something that someone here has talked about, but what ever it is, it might just be as boringly reliable like their other guns.

Agreed
And black.
I joke and pick at people with the Glock brand because people usually either love or Hate them. More so than any other tool I've known. A guy using a plumb hammer will never get fighting mad when someone pulls out an estwing and compares them. Same with the 870 vs 500. 70 vs 700. Etc. Usually it will end with "I prefer xxx but it really is a wash".
The more impressive thing to me is that Glock made the 17 with little preconceived ideas other than ease of mass production and cost saving and made a fine service arm. No vanity was involved, they just wanted the simplest design that could be reliable. it was just a tool just like the knives and entrenching tools they make. And today they still produce pretty much the same thing. The subtle changes have been few and far between with trigger geometry and rifling and such but it's obvious that a Glock is a Glock. Want a bigger caliber, scale it up. Want thinner, single stack.
I don't think anyone can truly appreciate the Glock brand until they have fully disassembled and replaced a few parts. Then done the same with a 1911 or a Sig/HK/beretta from the same 80s era. I can keep a fleet of different model glocks going with a handful of the same cheap parts. Parts interchangeability is impressive among them.

I think the love hate thing comes from when they first came out. Back then you had to sell a Glock because people didn’t want a plastic gun. Hell, aluminum frame guns weren’t though of that highly also.
Everyone and there mom were writing articles comparing Glocks to steel frame guns.
They started doing ungodly things to Glocks to show how good or how bad they were. Then the next thing you know, just about every gun company started making polymer frame guns.
But look back at all the polymer frame guns that hit the market to compete with Glock. Many have come and gone and Glock is still chugging alone.
When I first saw the HK VP9, I thought I wanted one, then I shot one. It did nothing for me. My world did not stop turning and life went on.
I didn’t think much of the Sig P320, and the gun going off when dropped didn’t help. But I ended up picking up one of the M17’s and really love the gun.
The M&P M2.0 in FDE is on my short list of guns I want to buy, and so is a Glock 48.
Glocks are not for everyone. The same as other guns on the market. But I think some hate Glock for the fact that they just don’t work well for them.
I have never understood why some get so upset. Why get worked up over something that will have very little effect on your life.
What ever Glock comes out with tomorrow, I’ll give it a look. Maybe it will be something I like, maybe it won’t, but I will wait to see.

I hope someone on here watches the livestream and lets us know. I wont be able to watch. But will be looking on here when i can thru out the day

And rightfully so IMO. I have 2 sig right now that could use a new frame. Granted these are pretty high use. And I'm a fan of the 22x series guns. No knocking them. Just should have used steel inserts like a glock.

As far as polymer I've shot most and still have a few USP and 2 320s (40 and 45). Like you I'm not overly impressed. Just Ho Hum guns in my opinion good but not great. The USP has no real strong points in my opinion but I've always liked them. Idk maybe just the allure and great marketing. The 320 has a dang good trigger for a striker fired gun in my opinion. And I could see being able to cheaply change the grip frame to a subcompact or compact being useful but I'll likely never do it. The "caliber x-change" is BS. The kits cost more than a new gun and are nothing that any Glock cant do. Their guns I like, I'm just not a fan of the company.

Could you at least give a hint???

We did. It will be black and plastic.

Maybe they are going to go back to the small Tupperware boxes? Maybe that's it.

One thing is for certain. It wont be a classic/retro/legacy model. Lol

To be honest I usually wouldn't care what they announced but this thread has me kind of anxious just to see

I bought the G48 - meh. Shot good, handled like a thin G19 but couldn't conceal it worth a darn. I can't conceal the M&P 2.0 very well either but it was a better gun to shoot.

I'm hoping Glock comes out with something completely outside of their own norm.

Glock has a new page for a G44. Combined with the sticker showing it's a 22 I'll place my bets on that for the moment.

I didn't read through any of this but a guarantee someone posted this... glock_1911-tfb.jpg Seems this is the go-to pic people rely on when Glock comes out with something "new".

Reality is, it will be a minor change to their current platform.

I would love to see a dedicated .22lr. That's about the best I can hope for knowing Glock seems to refuse any idea outside thier pistol platform.

Its gonna be the G44 and chambered in .22 GAP!

With legendary finger grooves.

Or maybe they meant legion-dary and it will ship with a challenge coin, humidor, and grey poupon right in the Tupperware case from the factory for double the standard price.

Worst intro EVAR. The comments in the livefeed were brutal.

Indeed. It's fine, might even get one to teach my kids to shoot Glocks, since I have so many anyway.

My wife might like it too, get her used to autoloaders.

Edit, though a .22 slide for one of my 1911s is probably a better idea

Lord knows, I'm probably gonna buy one to use as a dedicated 'fun day' range gun. But they'd have been better off having virtually any other intro than the one that they just conducted.

@GunnyUSMC Where is the forums biggest fanboy when you need him? Waiting for the cheerleading to commence. Everyone wants a PCC or a P365/Hellcat alternative, and the introduce a 22lr that's likely to be $500.
