Amazing at the differences in the poll between here and at Defensive Carry, you guys are more into the ownership , shooting, and use of the gun and have a more electic taste in firearms as there it's all about carry and defensive use, the polls between the 2 sites are nearly polar opposites

Well, you didn't specify I can't have other guns and my carry and defensive preferences are not on that list.

Plus that Sig 227 would make a fine carry gun, is about the size of the 229 and in a cartridge I prefer and only gives up 2 rounds.

I used to have a G23 I never cared for, so that's out. I know little to nothing about the ATI, but I already have one 1911 and don't have plans to own more (even though I do love my SR1911). A P226 an P220 is on my wishlist, so for me it'd be one of the SIGs. I'd probably want to convert the P229 to 9mm, so P227 would be my pick just because it's already in a caliber I own.

Sig 229 in .40 because I'm a Sig fan and I have a bunch of .40 cal ammo and it would be nice to own the pistol originally designed for .40 caliber. If the 227 was a 226 I would have gone with that but I have no use for .45 aarp.

I picked the Glock 23. I don’t currently shoot .40 S&W but I have other Glocks and like them very much. I would do as @LiveLife said and get a conversion barrel so I could shoot both 9mm and .40 out of it.

I think that's more bias speaking than any real issue with the pistols or calibers.

I could take any of the above pistols with any decent jhp into a typical SD situation with a single individual without feeling handicapped.

The fact that I prefer the P227 SAS doesn't mean the others are not capable.

I tend to pick the pistol I like and then the caliber. The dimensions of the .45 Shield fit me better than the 9mm/.40. The M&P 2.0 Compact handles .40 so well and holds enough ammo I see no real advantage to 9mm. On the other hand you couldn't give me a P365 chambered for.40 S&W.

I would pick the ATI Commander (either .45 or 9mm) in a heartbeat---don't like Glocks or Sigs.

Should be G23 but I can't fix it now
I would pick the G-23, my brother is a retired FBI agent and really liked the G23 but had to give up that pistol when he retired. I would have no use for the G23 but if I had one I would give it to my brother.

Not that Sigs excite me, the 227, because it’s the only one I don’t have already.
