Favorite Black Guns...handguns, that is.

Another black gun followed me home today. I know it will be a favorite of mine. I had one that I bought in 2005 and a few years ago I sold it. The day I did I regretted it. It was a Glock 34 Gen 3 just like the one I picked up today.

I put 100 rounds through it already. After a couple of hundred more it should be settled in nicely.

Even has "black" in the name: STI Black Guardian. Limited run of about 50 pistols. Standard STI 1911 Guardians do not have the bobbed grip & have SS slides. Finally got this to the range about a week ago. It is a fantastic shooter ( as one would expect from STI ). I have a Desert Eagle 1911C ( also commander size 1911 ). I love the DE, but this Guardian is way better. STI Black Guardian1.jpg

That is one good looking pistol.

Aside from the odd - oddly *greyish* gun.... ALL of mine, favorite or otherwise are as ALL heavy metal should be: "The Black and Silver".

So, if I were to think of "Black Guns" I tend towards polymer of which I have very few from having had very many.

This one stands out. Solidly in the "love to hate/hate to love" vein of ownership.

First off, it is important to note that I significantly dislike, bordering on irrationally hate, Glocks both aesthetically and how the trigger works as well as what is NOT incorporated in the design.

Still, they come my way if a sale mandates that I buy a couple of things which I might not want in order to get the couple of somethin's I DO want.

In that manner, many-few Glocks have been mine even if grudgingly owned. Some I should have kept like the 10mm but the rest are gone and, good riddance.

Which brings us to this pugnacious little beast.

This is actually the THIRD one I have owned and the other two are the only Glocks I have regretted selling - other than the 10 - out of the whole passel.

You see, for whatever reason - and I have fired EVERY Glock I have owned - these little 30s shock me every damn time as to how well I shoot them. Almost ZENNING the bullets to impact. And still, some fella will offer me too much for me to keep them. Then, this one came my way. A bit of a trigger job, a lasermax laser with its attendant wonderful spring, exceptional night sights and even a cheap though well made Glock light.
This hideous little monster is quite often, my *bump in the night* flashlight now and likely for a very long time to come.

So then, if I disregard more highly favored guns that I own because of their basic color. Hold my interpretation to polymer and choke on my choice a little bit.... I kinda, gotta present this nasty brick as favorite *black gun* as I see the term applied.

Glock may feel free to re-print my endorsement of this firearm at any time as long as it is used in its entirety.:neener:

Todd.

For any Turkish black pistol fans, here's my Sarsilmaz SARK2, all steel with 15 (14 +1) rounds of .45 acp capacity. A very soft shooting (albeit heavy), accurate and reliable gun.
