My first centerfire ever was a mini-14. Oh that rifle malfunctioned like crazy! I hated it. And yet it may be the gun I appreciate the most to this day. When I sold it, it spurred my interest in buying and selling. It opened me up to the collectors and curio market that I may have never ventured into if I didn’t sell that mini-14 and buy my first C&R

I will list the first that I bought for myself.
Revolver...S&W 686 Silhouette Model bought used in the mid-80s. Cost me $300.
Still have it...most accurate revolver I have ever owned.
Semiauto pistol... Springfield Armory 1911 .45ACP. Bought sometime in the mid -80s. Cost about $250-300. Constant companion ever since. Daily carry gun.
Rifle...Winchester 270 .22LR pump action rifle. Bought in the late 60-early 70s time frame, probably cost less than $100,IIRC. Still have it...just shot it last weekend for the first time in many years.
Shotgun...Ithaca M37 12ga pump gun. Bought it in the early 70s for about $150-200. Lost it in a divorce in the late 80s.
Finally replaced it several years ago.
