A G2C I had for 8 months developed a safety trigger problem--it would click half way to the firing point-sometime lock the trigger.
I took it to FedX for shipping--$8.
What's in the box? handgun $85---I won't pay 45% of cost to repair a gun.
the other guy was no better.
Many in US hate guns & it will get worse.
BTY-Taurus would ship for $50--still too much.

“What’s in the box?”

“Non hazardous materials, I would like to insure for $xxx.xx.”

Out of curiosity I went here https://www.fedex.com/en-us/online/rating.html to see what it would cost to ship 3lbs of something, in one of their medium boxes, worth $200 from 48003 to 39817 and it was $16.46 fed-ex ground. $3 more if you wanted them to come to you and pick it up. I bet the only thing one of their drivers would say is, “I’m here to pick up a package.”

I guess that is why I never have warmed up to Taurus, their products just seem too cheap. I don't mind cheap with excellent customer service (i.e. Ruger); but cheap with no customer service is a non-starter for me.

Sorry to hear about it.

Our nearest Great-big-fatso-poohpoo-head UPS guy won't even ship a gun's barrel alone if he knows it's in there. Interestingly, I was able to get some rhythm from UPS-overlords for my trouble as he was imposing personal dictates on a corporate operation or some such.

I still drive PAST him to use UPS and warn all otters from him as well since his patchouli-policy extends to anything his snowflake mind finds as offensive.

Todd.

UPS store or UPS hub?

BATFE knocking on your door might say the same thing..
Is it really worth a few cents?

As for the Taurus toss it in the trash and buy another if you like roulette.

There is a $10 answer that I don’t see that anyone has mentioned. Put the gun in a USPS small flat rate box ($6.95 plus insurance) and have the dealer you bought it from mail it back to them. A FFL can send handguns thru the mail.

Meh. Gotta get creative with what’s in the box.

“Machining Samples” (gun parts)
“Miniature bud vases” (empty brass)
“Unfinished fishing sinkers” (bullets)
“Plastic parts holder” (polymer grip frame)
“Small bore tube” (barrel)
“Rectangular box tube” (magazine)

Reason enough to cross them off your "buy" list IMHO. The G2C is a decent gun, but it has the worst trigger "dingus" of them all.

I've considered driving out that small in in the trigger to remove it, or maybe put some heat shrink tube on the trigger to "pre-activate" it. The gun has a thumb safety, although serious points off for not being ambi.

Mine hasn't totally stopped it from firing (yet) but its made me think the safety had flicked on during recoil. I gave up on Taurus long ago, I have mine as a replacement for my Millennium-Pro under the class-action lawsuit recall. I don't want a pistol proven to not be "drop safe", YMMV.

SIG showed the industry how it should be done with their handling of the P320 "fire when dropped" issue.

Taurus denied there was a problem until a class-action lawsuit forced them to address it -- and they are the poster child of how not to handle it!

Koroner

Whats in the box?

An R-O-D.

What is that?

A remote operated drill.
(didn't '30s gangsters call their guns "rods" or "heaters"?)

My brother and I call them "Nugs" just in case some one is listening in on our conversations!

I think back in the day they use to call them "Roscoes" and "Gats" too.

I went to FedEx to ship guns to Ruger and my ruger label was $35 for both ways shipping.

Violating a shipper’s policies isn’t the same thing as violating a law.

18 U.S.C. 1715, 922(a)(3), 922(a)(5) and 922 (a)(2)(A)

(e)  It shall be unlawful for any person knowingly to deliver or cause to be delivered to any common or contract carrier for transportation or shipment in interstate or foreign commerce, to persons other than licensed importers, licensed manufacturers, licensed dealers, or licensed collectors, any package or other container in which there is any firearm or ammunition without written notice to the carrier that such firearm or ammunition is being transported or shipped;

I edited my original post to remove that statement. Still, I wonder about the law you quoted because of the words I have underlined.

I wish one of our lawyers would weigh in here and clarify what this means because the clause I highlighted makes it seem like this only applies if you're mailing it to a non-licensee.

Hmm. I guess I'd just pay what I needed to stay legal. In the long run, I'm not going to give the shipping cost a second thought. But I may give a second thought to buying another Taurus product. Seems ultimately they are the problem, and why should I risk breaking the law to support their business?

Without going any further down the Taurus bashing road, I'll just say I don't buy their products for a variety of experiences, several of which occurred first hand. I'm happy though for those that like theirs.
