Your firearm purchase that had the worst trigger possible

I'm lucky in that I've never bought anything with a heinous trigger.
If it was that bad (the Nagant revolver I was looking at, for instance) it stayed at the store.
I mean, hardest trigger is probably my Taurus 85.
The one on my Savage Mark II is pretty darn stiff--it's not an adjustable--but it's only motion is 'fire'.

Browning BL-22, one of the worst triggers ever and gunsmiths don't like to mess with them!

Astra A-80 in the late 80s. Pull the trigger on Sunday, might go off by Tuesday. Not really BAD, but LOOOONG....
CZ 100 - DAO trigger designed by a mad man, made the HK vP70z trigger feel great. Only CZ I couldn't wait to get rid of.

CZ 70 milsurp in .32 ACP. In single action it was garden-variety awful, but in double action it took two fingers to pull.

On the other end of the scale, My wife and I shot IHMSA Unlimited silhouette in the early 80s. Our XP-100 was at the gunsmith's and he measured the trigger just for grins. Eleven OUNCES. He said "It should be dangerous, but I'm not touching it". All you had to do was think about shooting, and it would go off.

What trigger pull gauge goes to 60 pounds?

My Mosin isnt a great trigger but I don't expect it to be.

I have a hi point 40sw......not really anything great about it including the trigger pull
at 60lb you don't need a gauge. You just tie it to progressively heavier stuff until it trips. Its not too hard to find a fish scale, or winching scale that goes that high if your looking for a serious evaluation. But that was a mistype. I meant 40. I think it came in at 42lb on the scale. It was awful. I got it for incredibly cheap because the guy I bought if from could not stand it. The single action was still around 12lb.

Turkish made 12g over/under. (Dont recall the name) Given to me and quickly gave it to someone else.

Ruger P345. Worst trigger I’ve ever had on a gun, but I surprised myself with the accuracy of every pull. Kind of wish I still had it.

Runner up.....flame suit ready....all three Hi Powers that I’ve owned. All were modern manufacture (2000 and up), but just horrible triggers. Beautiful bluing...felt great in the hand....just miserable to shoot on many levels.

Not a firearm, but a Chinese QB89 bullpup air rifle.

Out of the box, the trigger must have been 50 or 60 pounds. You'd pull the trigger through the takeup, and then hit a wall. Nothing. You'd check the safety. The markings were confusing, so you'd flip the safety and try again. It would pull through through the takeup, and then hit a wall again.

You'd look at the safety markings, and then pull out the manual. Nope, incomprehensible Chinglish.

You'd shrug, flip the safety back, aim it in a safe direction, and then squeeze with two fingers as hard as you possibly could, just to see if it would go off.

I've got an original LC9. The trigger is nowhere near great, but it wouldn't be so bad if the pull wasn't 10 or 15 miles long.

Ohio Rapid Fire - Imbel receiver STG58 (FN FAL) carbine.
Trigger pull had to be 20lbs +.

I don't care for the jointed triggers on S&W poly pistols. Traded a S&W 442 for a M&P Shield. Hated the trigger and didn't care for the right handed only, single side, thumb safety (I'm left handed). Gave it to a family member.

That being said, I'm currently playing with a $250 S&W SD9VE pistol. Factory trigger pull is pretty bad - spongy. I have an $44 Apex trigger and spring kit on order.

Baikal SxS coach 12ga. Once sold as a Remington Bounty Hunter.

I've checked the safety a few times thinking I must of left it on; nope.

Other than being very heavy, I'm not sure what it feels like because I loose most of the feeling in my finger with the amount of pressure needed. o_O

Good thing I only use it for destroying things at short distance.

Without any doubt, and out of well over 100 over the yrears, H&K P2000SK V3. I tried to find some redeeming quality about that gun but could not. Infuriating stupid heavy trigger on a gun of very poor design. That was the thought in my mind every time I handled it. Gone it was after a short while.

Worst I've experienced was a S&W Sigma about 12 years ago. Long and heavy, and difficult to hit anything with past 15 yards as a result.

Runner up was an LC9 I tried in a store. I know it's an up close and personal defense gun, but it was terrible. I dry fired it like 4 or 5 times, winced, and handed it back to the clerk. His only reaction, "Yeah." as he put it away.

Worst I own is my SA post recall, oh I mean upgraded, XDs. Prior to the recall it had a pretty decent break on it and would shoot clover leaf patterns at 10 yards, and 1.5 inch groups at 15 yards. When it came back it felt spongy with a less than ideal break. Now it was shooting 3" groups at 10 yards. Ugh, what'd they do to my poor little beast? After a few thousand rounds the trigger seemed to smooth back out a bit, or maybe I just got a little more used to the new trigger. Then the trigger dingus broke one day out of the blue. WTH????? I didn't even know that was a part that gets stressed. Sent it back and they replaced the trigger. Starting over...…. again. If anything else goes wrong with that gun, I'm having it fixed and trading it towards something else.

Worst, ever: Winchester 190 semi auto 22lr. You could hang the gun by the trigger with the safety off, and it was impossible to shoot accurately. Second place would be a Mossberg 500c 20 gauge, just a heavy, gritty trigger pull. Third place, H&R 949 .22 revolver. The DA pulls for 3/4ths of a mile before it goes off and stacks all the way to the top. Surprisingly, SA pull is excellent. Honorable mention is my Winchester M24 sxs 16 gauge. Triggers are a bit heavy for my taste, but not terrible.

My MA compliant Glock G35 was around 10lbs and gritty. Worst Glock trigger I've felt. Put in a (-) connector and polished it up and now it's good to go at about 4lbs.

Worst non-Glock trigger pull is a tie between a S&W Sigma bought new in `95 or so and a Taurus G2c bought last year. Both were awful. Got rid of the Sigma, still have the Taurus and have tried to fix it to no avail. It's not worth enough to bother selling.

Worst rifle trigger is my Ruger M77 bought new in `99 or so. Heavy and imprecise.

Any of the original military flintlock muskets that I've handled.
You'd think that the trigger pulls would smooth out a bit over the years.
Nope.
But that makes sense.
Triggers weren't pulled back then, they were yanked on the command of a sergeant.
Flintlock rifle triggers were MUCH better... .

I once bought a Hi-Point C-9 just to play with. It wasn't play to pull the trigger on it. It was work. Next was an early Savage Axis before the accu-trigger. Pull, pull, and pull some more and finally the thing would shoot. Some tinkering on the Hi-Point gave it a much better than factory trigger and Rifle Basix saved the day with the Savage. The Hi-Point is long gone but I still have the Savage. The worst was a reproduction Luger Co2 pistol my son bought. It took both of us and a rest break to let out trigger fingers recuperate to use up a single CO capsule. It's never been out of it's box since. I bet my trigger pull guage would break before the trigger released on that thing.

I had a first generation Taurus Millennium that had a terrible pull. Long, heavy, and gritty. Could never get used to it and could never shoot it decently, which was a shame since it would have been a decent carry gun.

While not terrible, my original CX4 had an overly heavy trigger. While not a deal breaker and it was a great little carbine, I remember my trigger finger being sore as hell after a few range sessions. My new CX4 has a much better trigger

High Standard Sentinel Mark IV. Nine shot 22 mag. I had a thread going on about it not too long ago. Horrendous trigger. I've been smoothing it out with drywall anchors. Trigger seems better. Or my finger manned up and got tougher!

By comparison I have a factory condition Saiga and a FEG High Power with the mag disconnect still in and those triggers don't bother me at all. And from what I read here, they are supposed to be bad triggers by reputation.

Still debating about getting rid of it. But it's the only nine shot 22 mag in a j-frame size that I've ever found or heard of.

I just assembled the second of two mixmaster ARs. I used an Aero LPK because it was free, buts it’s the worst trigger I’ve ever felt.
