357 Magnum Choice

I would take a Dan Wesson 715 over any of the guns mentioned by the OP. If you buy a 6" Dan Wesson and decide in the future that you would like a 2" snubby it would cost about $200 and take about 5 minutes to change out.

If you want to try a brake for fun at the range it will cost you $75 and about 2 minutes to put on or take off.

I have an EWK break for my 744 and it is an impressive piece of engineering and manufacturing!!!! The break will work with any of the DW barrels in the same caliber.

That is a gorgeous piece.

I would check out both the 686 and GP-100 and evaluate the trigger and price. Which ever has a better trigger and price is the way to go. They are so similar in weight, shooting and LACK OF CONCEALABILITY, that I would go with either one.
I would get at least a 4 inch barrel as my experience with shorter .357 revolvers is that they are counter productive. You get more blast and noise with less stopping power.

The KIMBER is in a completely different category and is meant for concealed carry. The short barrel makes it a poor choice for anything else, in my opinion, but the final choice is yours.

I'd look hi, low, near & far for a S&W 581.
It's an L frame that fixed the very few that cracked the forcing cone.
Also it's blue with fixed sights.

681 is stainless.
586 is blue adjustable sights.
686 is stainless adjustable sights.

I vote Smith and Wesson m649.
The .357 mag for all occasions.
SA/DA capable. Semi concealed hammer)
5 round capacity
Stainless (hand polished to 80% mirror)
Pre-lock configuration
Fixed sites
Suitable for range fun, self defense, dinner parties, backyard bbq, hunting (you can have it in your pocket while you line up your lever gun)
You can get lasers and lights and all other kinds of stuff for it.
20 oz frame is heavy enough for melee and throwing.
20oz frame is light enough to carry over log distances.
Rated for 5 ninjas.

I always wished they'd made the 681's with a half lug barrel. Since they're service weapons, a little less weight would make them a little more friendly in the holster.

I have one just like that. Sweet revolver!
With the Kim Ahrends grips and a deluxe action job by my master gunsmith,it shoots as good as it looks!! Everyone that I let shoot it has the same response, "man that's a NICE revolver"!!!!! By the way I love your avatar! Is that Mr. Harley & Mr. Davidson?
