I've researched this and couldn't find an answer. I'm assuming you cannot since the diamer is .357 I believe while the .308 is smaller but I am no expert when it comes to bullet sizes.

Basic 350 Legend cartridge specs:

  • Bullet Diameter: .357 inch
  • Shell case Length: 1.71 inches
  • Overall Cartridge Length: 2.26 inches

Can you shoot the 350 Legend out of a 7.62 / .308 Suppressor?

The long answer is the hole in the suppressor is too small for the bigger bullet to fit. Now you *could* do it in reverse but the hole in the suppressor would be so big the level of sound reduction with gasses shooting by would be small at best. You really have to match your suppressor to your bullet diameter for effective use.

Saw this in another thread from AAC.

"At this time there is no standard velocity 350 Legend round that will work with the Ti-Rant series. The SAAMI specification for the chamber pressure is 55k in the 350 Legend. We do rate the Ti-Rant 9 up to standard pressure .357 Magnum usage which is 35k. In this case using the 350 Legend will result in damage to the silencer or host firearm and could possible result in injury to the shooter and persons in the immediate area.

Thank you,

As noted, a .357 bullet will not fit down a suppressor designed for a .308 bullet.

Regarding what can to use, you’re probably going to be looking for something either dedicated to the 350 Legend or an overbuilt 9mm suppressor. I’d recommend looking at the Liberty Mystic-X for an off the shelf option - it is rated to handle quite a bit more than 9mm and would probably be fine with 350 Legend (call the manufacturer to confirm though).

Another option is to have a can custom built for your use. For example, if you are only using the suppressor on a rifle, you can increase the diameter and likely decrease length compared to a pistol suppressor (pistol cans tend to have a smaller diameter).

Not to push more Liberty cans, but a good example of this is the Mystic-X vs Chaotic. The Chaotic was originally a custom/one-off can designed specifically to be used for .300 Blk on a AR SBR. Because of those design parameters, they could take advantage of the height of the sights on the AR to make a fatter/shorter suppressor. Instead of a standard 9mm can form factor like the Mystic-X at 1.375” x 8”, they were able to make the Chaotic at 2” x 6” while maintaining good dB reduction. Just some thoughts.

It's not a pistol round so a standard 9mm can may not be tough enough to handle a rifle round blast.
But that mistic-x sounds like the way to go it's listed for it 350ldg.

I would have to say that the hole for the bullet 357/9mm to pass through is going to be no less than 10mm, probably closer to 11mm.

ONCE!!!

And?

All commercial .350 Legend ammo is loaded with .355 bullets.

Why? Because existing .358 rifle bullets are to heavily constructed to work with the lower velocities of the Legend.

Rather because the chamber dimension didn’t appropriately consider standard case neck thicknesses, such a SAAMI spec chamber doesn’t accommodate brass thicker than 11 thou - and subsequently, since we’re redesigning bullets anyway, it’s easier to make undersized bullets than learn how to make 10thou case necks which don’t fail prematurely.

For the rest of us who aren’t beholden to factory ammo and who weren’t complacent enough to tolerate undersized chambers from barrel mfg’s, .357” bullets work just fine as designed.

So are you saying those who invented the .350 Legend did it wrong?

No. Brass manufacturers are failing to produce brass with neck thicknesses compatible with the design specification of the cartridge.

Bullet diameter is .357” maximum. Chamber maximum diameter is .3809”. Including 3 thousandths neck tension: (.3809-.357+.003)/2 = 13.45 thousandths. If a chamber is cut to the minimum .3789”, then brass has to be 11.45 thousandths. Seems most rifles are falling on the tight side, unfortunately, so folks buying brass 13thou thick are stuck using bullets 2+ thou undersized, since their brass is 2 thou over sized for their chamber necks.
