What are your Gun Goals for 2020?

I want either an S&W 327 TRR8 or the M&P R8. I haven’t decided which yet but I have wanted a big brother to my 327 Night Guard for some time now.

I have also been thinking I “need” a Glock 20 10mm. I have no real reason for it other than I want one.

Another thing I want to do is finish a couple of projects I have started. One is finish overhauling a Stevens 311 that completely disassembled and put it together with new springs and furniture. The other is a BP Kentucky Rifle my wife bought me last Christmas.

I need to play with my 30-30s more too. I have been neglecting them.

I would like to pick up a lever gun this year, my safe has one spot left and am currently lacking a lever gun, first time in years. Really hoping Henry comes out with an all blued steel, side loading 30-30. But would be perfectly happy with a win1894 AE.

Other than that my major shooting goal is to take my handgun abilities further. Plan to to shoot the hell out of my single six and Blackhawk. Hopefully will bag a deer with the blackhawk, would be my first deer taken with a handgun. Planning on doing weekly range trips with my father and brother with 22's from spring to early fall time and weather permitting.

1) rebarrel a Tikka 695 to 280AI
2) put a 6mmAR Turbo barrel on a receiver I bought for that purpose 4 or 5 years ago
3) finish a range at our farm

I’ve put all these off for too long.

More mags, ammo, and spare parts for my fighting guns.
Finish the one 9mm AR I started.
Do a few mods on my Mini 14.
Get a suppressor.

I need to cut back on range time, take inventory and maybe look towards upgrading. Less is more. I think I am about ready to join a community of shooters.

Looking to pick up a 10mm. Buy more ammo. Maybe rent a climate controlled storage unit to store some of my ammo. Ran outta room long ago.

My top goal for 2019 was to shoot the 1,000 yard qualification at Best Of The West in Liberty Hill. Unfortunately, the range was closed due to a dispute with a local developer.

So my primary goal for 2020 is to find another 1,000 yard or more range in reasonable driving distance and do what it takes to shoot there a couple times.

My second goal is to research options for an African plains game safari.

Finally, I want to either shoot my 7mm SAUM or sell/trade it for a .280 Ackley. Leaning toward the latter ... at the moment.

Figure a way to get range time for the boys. There is only 1 outdoor range within an hour's drive and it requires an expensive membership.

Also, it's finally time to upgrade from my Lee Hand Press, haha.

Get the hardware I do own to the range more often, make sure the stuff I enjoy is maintained well, and find new owners for the items that don't get used much anymore. I am still discovering that I don't need many guns so much as interesting guns that are well made and have some history behind them.

I plan to have a red dot on my .45 Colt before next deer season.

I also want to splurge a bit on a nice .22 rifle. I've always had a Marlin 60 and while it has never failed me, I would like a nice bolt action like the CZ with the Turkish Walnut stock.
I'm thinking about selling my Blackhawk in .357 magnum to fund it. It just sits in the cabinet and gets taken out maybe once or twice a year to target shoot. Really serves no purpose.

To use what I already have. I am probably like a lot here in that I see a new
gun and want to add it to the collection. Problem is that as I get older I find I just
do not have the energy to take care of all the
'stuff' I already have so my goal is to use what I have
and to NOT buy more stuff. The other thing is to finish setting up
this 100 yard range at my home.

It's been 8 years since last firearm purchase. I'm browsing for my first autoloader and I'm getting a new used revolver, S&W or Ruger. If I get carried away, an AK pistol npap with sb2 brace.

My main plan is to sell my long range Benchrest rifle and maybe replace it with a coupe of varmint rifles. I hate to part with it but all of my shooting buddies have gotten out of the game.

I've got my eye on a couple of interesting ones.

Finish setting up the loading room after the big move (39 years). Organize the components. Load 4500 shot shells for next year's leagues. Sell off about thirty or forty guns that were "nice to have" but never got used. Build a new loading bench. Refine 500# of lead. I think I'm into 2021.
