1st gun - Savage Stevens tube fed semi-auto 22lr rifle that my dad bought at a garage sale for $15 when I was about 12 but he only took me out shooting a couple times because it would jamb every other round. He sold it a couple year later because it was so frustraiting. About 8 years later I bought another Savage Stevens tube fed semi-auto 22lr. It jambed every third shot.

1st pistol - Ruger Mark II. It was never that great of a gun either. It had a lot of fail to feed.

1st center fire pistol - Bersa 380.

1st center fire rifle - $75 M1 Carbine - I still have it.

1st high power rifle - $180 M1 Garand - I still have it.

1st revolver - $79 Russian Nagant gas seal revolver.

1st shot gun - Remington 870 - I always short stroked and jambed the stupid thing.

Shotgun: Winchester 37, 16 gauge
Rifle: Remington 41, .22 rimfire
Handgun: SIG-Sauer P220, .45 ACP
Revolver: S&W 27-3, .357 magnum

First rifle : milsurp 6.5X52mm 18" barrel Carcano carbine my dad bought for me at GI Surplus for $15 when I was 13. There was a large bucket full of those standing on their metal buttplates next to a similar bucket with milsurp rifles in 8X57JS next to it, for $25.

First shotgun: a no-name single shot break action 20 gauge shotgun my dad bought for me at Woolco when I was 12. Woolco was to Woolworth stores what KMart was to Kress / Kresge stores. I still have it but haven't used it for over 30 years.

First revolver: S&W Model 13 purchased by me brand new via mail order and bus shipment shortly after I turned 21. It was NOS inventory with tecessed (counterbored) cylinder. I well remember picking that package up at the bus station and the old dude behind the counter saying "This feels like a pistol!" as I signed for and took delivery of the package. Steep learning curve for me on how poorly the K frame grips fit my hand, and how much better fit a set of Pachmeyer grips were for me. I think I paid somewhere around $150 at the time.

First autoloading pistol: a pre-owned Manurhin P1, a variation of the Wather P38 stamped by the French. I was 22. I still have it.

First that I bought on my own:

Shotgun - Remington 1100 12Ga. Bought for grouse hunting and general small game and reeking havoc in the Minnesota woods when I was about in 9th or 10th grade.
Pistol - Beretta 92F (note, not a 92FS) - Bought just because. Justified it since the M9 was my issue sidearm and this allowed me to practice when I wanted.
Rifle - Tikka M695 Hunter 7mm Rem Mag - Bought because I saw a herd of deer about 400 yards away with 5 min. of light left and all I had was my Marlin 30-30 that my Dad bought me.

No revolvers - yet.

That is too cool. My first milsurps were bought from pickle barrels in the pawn & gun shops along Yadkin Roaad and Bragg Blvd outside of Ft Bragg as well as some strange little gun shop in Massachusetts and Kittery Trading Post's big sales in Maine.

THOSE.... were the days. Wearing out dealers as you pick over the minutiae of sub-$30 rifles.

One of my greatest regrets was blowing off a very particular barrel of Johnson Rifles that were just under $100 ea.

Todd.

Revolver - High Standard Double 9
Autoloading pistol - Glock 23
Rifle - Ruger 10/22
Shotgun - 870 Express 12 ga (this was also my first gun)

I have everything but the Glock. In hindsight I should have started with a .22 autoloader, but even after 8 or so years of ownership I never really "clicked" with Glocks.

I'm 19 so mine arent all that nostalgic yet or anything. my first rifle was a savage rascal and my first shotgun was a mossberg 500 20 gauge. i still have the rascal and use it nearly daily but I sold the 20 gauge in order to get something else.

Revolver- Model 36 Chief Special
Pistol- Ruger Mk II Government
Rifle- Winchester 94/22
Shotgun- 870 Wingmaster

First one I bought was a Savage model 30 in 20 Ga. 1972.IIRC when I came back from SEA,

Mt dad bought a Remington model 66 which I still have.

I believe the first gun I got was a Golden Boy BSA 100 year anniversary .22 , I was in Scouts from Cub till eagle. Now the first one I wanted was a Mosin m91/30.

It all started with a Red Ryder that quickly disappeared after I shot my psycho sister in the rump after she tried to kill me by throwing me in a flooded basement hole. We were living in a ghost town at the time.
After that I found a .22 bolt action and a little .25 Colt clone of some sort. They went away when Dad noticed them.
That was just after I turned six years old.
After that they came and went thick and fast... .

Savage mdl. 24.

.22mag. over a 20 ga.

I traded it (in about 1976) working night shift in a Tobacco warehouse in Mtn. City, TN. (Unloading and weighing farmers trucks, of hand tied tobacco bundles on baskets.) Traded it for a 1952 Winchester mdl 94 (.30-.30) beautiful wood. Pug, needed a squirrel gun, I needed a deer rifle. (We were both happy.) Still have it in my collection.

Have since sought and purchased a Mdl. 24V (deluxe) .30-.30 over a 20 ga. In order to fill that niche. Simmons Pro series Diamond reticle shotgun scope. Would love to have that .22mag over 20ga. back.

Getting back my first shotgun and rifle in the form of a .22/20 24 H DL was one of my best scores ever.
