Getting my submission ready for this years black pack rebates.. Taking pics of the product boxes and barcodes and picture of the receipt from PSA just like last year. Then as I'm reading the submission website I see now in addition to this they want pics of the shipping labels and/or packing slip... neither of which I have. Wife clears out all the cardboard every week and the packing slips got shredded.

Am I SOL on this rebate now???

Theres guys here that swear against rebates as a scam but I've always defended it because , well, if you submit what they want you get money back. But I cant believe this... whats next? A pic of each round and a pic of the spent case?

How is an online receipt and pics of the product not proof of purchase???????? If they are so worried they'll get scammed why do rebates at all? Whats the deal with rebates anyway.... why not just put the stuff on sale?

Sorry to rant.. I'm obviously all steamed up over this. Whats a man to do?

They make it so time intensive and require so much effort they figure most people won't bother. For every rebate not submitted, they pocket the money.

And that's why people say it's a scam. I agree with whst you said. And this year they added the packing slip or shipping label ( but whichever you use must also show purchase price.. what shipping lable shows purchase price??) . I assume they did this because too many people submitted the rebates last year and they figure most people will assume last year's submission details and throw away their garbage thereby becoming unable to submit.
Con artist theives... (still pretty steamed up. While $100 is a chunk of cash I'm more upset on principal and cost per round. )

Trying not to be a wet blanket here, but sometimes rebates just aren’t worth the trouble. I am one of those guys that has no luck with rebates.

Perhaps you should call them and explain the situation. You may be able to get someone to clear your rebate. It’s worth a try. You are obviously a good customer to them, right?

I had a similar issue. I contacted the rebate folks via the chat option on the rebate site. Essentially, my issue was that I bought online and did a store pickup. Therefore, the rebate did not squarely fit in the two purchase categories of “online” or “in store” and I did not have a packing slip since it was never shipped to me and I lacked a cash register receipt since it was not purchased in store. The lady said to submit as an online purchase and to include an explanation. We will see if they take issue with it. I’ve had good luck with rebates. I have yet to have a rebate denied. I take pictures before I mail/submit and cover my bases though. If there is an issue, I would contact the rebate folks and if they still deny your rebate, I recommend contacting the Better Business Bureau and/or your state attorney general’s office.

I tried to call but theyre not in today so I will try again tomorrow. Didnt realize they had a chat feature. I may try that as well. I will do just like you suggest and cross my fingers.

Another note- *ONLINE SUBMISSION ONLY*
What a heap of crud! Can't even 'prove' I bought their stuff by sending the UPCs(and thereby destroying the boxes in the process ).

Last year I did not meet one of the requirements because either the PSA packing slip or label I attached didn't contain an address. Don't remember which.

I emailed Vista after getting a denied notification and they ended up honoring it when I resubmitted the entire order sheet/label showing neither contained an address.

Based on that experience I think you have a good chance. I maybe provided too much info this year, I had something like 13 photo attachments for only 4 boxes of ammo. I'm thinking theres no chance they'll say not enough info...

I'm ok with doing rebates but this one didn't seem as good as the last one. Next year if the discount rate declines again I likely won't participate.

I've gotten my money back on all the Federal rebates I've submitted. Yes, it takes a little time, but this one is worth $100, so I can invest an hour or two.

I did the 8 box max and submitted all the materials on-line. Mine was an in-store purchase (Academy) so no shipping label. Within a week I got a confirmation back that my rebate was accepted and being processed.

With PSA, they don't send a packing slip. You get 2 emails from them when you order. One is the order confirmation which has the price paid. The second email is the shipping confirmation which has the address and counts as the packing slip. Just print out one of each and include with your other photos. I did this for the last Federal rebate and it worked pretty smoothly.

I printed off the Midway invoice when I did Federal's rebate sale on green tip ammo. I also used an Xacto knife to cut the barcodes off the ammo boxes I ordered and sent the originals. I still got the rebate a few weeks later.

Thanks for the suggestion. I did this and just submitted this morning. Still pending but I have high hopes it will go thru. Fingers crossed!

The reason for the packing slip is for those scammers who complete an order, get the electronic invoice, and then call to cancel it before it ships.

Rebates aren't scams, but they are a hassle. If you follow the guidelines, you do get the money... eventually.

This year, the wrinkles were:

The short submission window. If a person purchased on the last day 12/3/19, there are only 15 days until the last day for submission on 12/18/19.

The a proof of purchase. They must have had too many actual scammers last year. Pictures are way easier than cutting barcodes and sending them in the mail. If the shipping label is shredded and PSA doesn't give a packing slip, just log into PSA (assuming that you have an account), hover over "My Account" and click "My Orders." Your orders will show up, with a total, order status, and a link to "Track Order." A pop up box will emerge with a shipment number, a tracking number, the carrier, and a link. If it is recent enough, you may be able to click the tracking link for a "Delivered" proof from the carrier. If not, you can right click and select print to save the pop up box as a pdf. That is proof of delivery from PSA.

Can I get a commission on that $100? - just kidding haha.

I did the filing with pictures and going through scenarios in my mind about how I was gonna be denied and gonna raise holy hell, but got an email a few days ago said it was approved and to wait about 8 WEEKS!!!

I got the same ETA time frame for the last Federal green sale. Got the refund in 2-3 weeks instead. Make sure you keep an eye on your mail. I received no notification my rebate was sent. And I got mine on a card in a large envelope that looked like regular junk mail. Only reason it didn't end up burned with the rest of the junk was I felt the card inside before tossing it.

Mine just got approved today. I think I sent it Dec 1st. You will get an email when approved.

Last year I stacked up my boxes and sent all the boxes in one picture which the instructions said explicitly not to do. I got my card in the mail a few months later. They may not be as picky as the instructions say.

Still pending review. I did however "chat" with them. She looked it up and said it all looks good.... just need to wait for approval.

Send in what you have. They'll either honor it or they won't, and if they don't send them an explanation of why you think it should still be honored.

For last years rebate I used a PSA purchase that was 10 PMAG's packaged with so many rounds of Federal ammo. A couple months after I sent everything in I received an email stating my purchase didn't qualify. I simply sent an email back explaining that the package deal still should count. I never heard anything back, but then a couple months ago a Federal t-shirt and small range bag arrived in the mail, which is what the rebate had been for.
