I was really excited for about ten seconds before I clicked that link and saw the trigger and grips on that Valor. :scrutiny: Someone at Dan Wesson must have been smoking something to take one of the cleanest, most aesthetically pleasing 1911s and turn it into that.

Completely agree. I probably should have picked up a second Valor when they were ludicrously cheap on GunBroker, but I'm working to upgrade my 1911 collection to semi customs or better now, so it's a non issue.

They missed an opportunity by not just resuming manufacture of the Classic Valor line and then marketing a brand new “Valor Supery-Dupery Elite Tactical Competition” model for $200 more. I love my VBOB and would buy the discontinued Blue Version in a heartbeat. This new Valor holds no appeal with me.

"Obviously..."
No doubt! Do you ever fire it? Personally, I can sympathize with either answer.

It sits in the safe in lonely solitude. I put one magazine through it when I got it, just to say I had shot it. I do take it out from time to time to admire it. It will go to my son.

Maybe someday I'll shoot it again.

hat is one of the saddest stories I have ever heard... you should shoot her and enjoy her... you wont wear her out then your son will have a double heirloom! and that beauty of a gun could run as she was made to do!

I can’t actually pin down my favorite 45 since I have many that I enjoy. However, this is my favorite non winter carry 45, being that has been my EDC for many years. Full disclosure; I may be switching to an STI Staccato C in 9.

Some of you may remember THE masters of custom Colt 380s in the 90s, Mcdougal and Associates. But few were aware that they were master mechanics of 1911s as well.
This Colt had everything done to it that made it a perfect EDC for Me. A few years later I sent it to Robar for the NP3 finish on the lower and internals, and Roguard on the top.

For our mild Texas winters this stock STI Ranger fits perfectly in my inside bomber jacket pocket (the round is there to cover the SN).

Not great photos, Ruger Alloy Commander and Randall flat top are both excellent shooters, The Ruger is my cool weather carry.
