My post will maybe be of little use to the OP
Actually none.

If the gun does not point naturally for me I will look for another.
Did OP post that as the problem?

And I wonder how legions of Glock owners found ways to overcome the "Glocks don't point naturally for me" issue? BTW, I started off with 1911 and transitioned to Glocks.

Hickok45 doesn't seem to have naturally pointing issues with Glocks ... I wonder why?

Glocks have never pointed well for me, this is a deal breaker for me. I've had two Glocks a G 17 and a G19, I now have none.

Don't get stuck on "pointing". It's not important. Round count and training are what matter.

I assume all accuracy issues are due to me as a shooter. No such thing as a long trigger, heavy trigger, gritty trigger, bad reset, etc. All triggers are perfect and I simply need to improve. No such thing as bad grip size, too short, too long, too wide. All grips are perfect and I simply need to improve.

Now, that's not exactly true, but that ethos has me shooting my LCP better than some guys shoot their glock 19s. If you blame your gear instead of trying harder you'll struggle forever. If you try harder you'll solve these issues in one day at the range.

I shoot my glocks, 1911, LCP, DA revolvers, everything pretty well and to be honest I wouldn't even notice the glock grip angle if it wasnt such a hot message board topic. It really feels like an overblown complaint.

Anyways to the OP just rock on with either Glock, whichever you pick you're gonna lust for the other soon after! (And then comes a 27/29 craving I'm afraid to say)

I really don't care for either of them, but my opinion does not matter.

I would suggest that you look for a range that has them both in their rental inventory.
The two may look similar, but they are far from it. You need to hold and shoot both to make your own decision.

I appreciate all the responses! I have shot the 19/17 but my range doesn’t offer the 26/30 to try. This will hopefully be my new edc, so I’m leaning towards the 26, but the more I hear about how soft shooting the 30 is, the more I want one.

I have held both, and I enjoy the feel of the 30 (I like the stocky slide), but I’m afraid it won’t get carried as much as a result. The height of the pistol is a moot point since I’ll want to carry the 26 with the 2-rounds extension most days.

Any experience with edc’ing the 30 would be very helpful.

I carried the 30 for some time, size wise the 30 carries closer to the Glock 19 than the 26 with the 10 round mag. With the 9 round flush fitting it is somewhere between.

The thicker grip and slide makes the 30 print more, but how much it matters depends on your carry setup, I found the fat slide printed on the back corner noticably under a t-shirt with my preferred style (2 oclock, IWB). The 30s does conceal a bit better but, honestly, not by a ton.

As for shooting, the 30 does shoot soft for a tiny .45 but it's still a small and light .45 and I shot my 26 some 30-40% faster and found the 9mm much easier to keep small groups at speed (completely unsurprising I'm sure).

So, get the 26 first for carry, then get the 30 anyway for fun :)

I have carried a 30 for a little while but I seem to be able to conceal anything so I might be a bad judge for this. I carried a full size 21 and now a full size 22.
How much grip length can you conceal? I always thought I had to carry a small gun until I tried bigger and I shoot the longer grip better.

Edit: I know this isn't what you started the thread about but I ended up going with the 40cal G22 because the frame size is the same as the 9mm G17. I could draw and get 1st shot on target quicker than the fat 45acp guns.

Don't you think you should wait until after you're married following a long and fulfilling courtship?

Wait. I read that wrong.
Any old Glock will do.

I've CC'd my 26 and 30 extensively. I use a galco kingtuk for both, big fan of the king tuks, and the 30 conceals quite well on my thin frame (6'3" 185lb) with anything less revealing than a t-shirt. The fatness seems to grab at the fabric and every time I lean it prints bad in a tshirt, but I typically office carry under a tucked button up and the 30 works in that method just as well as the 26. The tuck on a button down keeps the fabric from bunching and I get no printing.

The 26 is still too fat for tshirt IMO, same problem it's still too fat, but not nearly as bad as the 30, so I view the two as very comparable with a slight edge to the 26 on concealability.

I have four main carry styles, and four guns so I can perfectly match each use. 30, 26, LCP, and LCR.

1. Regular day to day IWB, the 30 rules. Great round, great shooting, easy conceal. The only foible is round count. 9+1 isn't a lot of rounds but I usually don't need a lot of rounds. Any time I don't need to IWB with slim fit clothing I like the 30.

2. Deep conceal, the LCP is best. It fits in a pocket, IWB, ankle, anywhere. I mostly pocket and ankle carry it or IWB with slim fit clothing.

3. Pocket carry, the LCR is best. A spotless model can be fired without removing from my pocket. I like the LCR for winter weather on my commute in case I get mugged by a single attacker.

4. Heavy load out, I like my G26 because it uses the standard double stack 9mm magazines, meaning I can CCW my G26 and put my SUB-2000 in my backpack with 3x33rd magazines as backup. This is the carry application I bought my 26 for. I won't discuss SHTF really but for example I carried this setup after the recent WW3 scare in case I saw any ISIS or Hezbollah flags unfurling in a crowded location in the immediate uncertain period following our drone strike.

Overall the 26 and 30 are roughly equal in concealment, but those huge 9mm mags combined with the slightly easier to conceal measurements do give it a slight edge overall. You won't go wrong with either though.

Also worth noting I prefer gen 4 to gen 5. I like the third pin more than i hate the finger grooves. I'd get a gen 4 26 over a gen 5.

Thanks for all the input from everyone! For the sake of concealability and ammo (most of the people I shoot with are 9mm fanatics), I ended up going with the 26...but I do agree that I will be buying a 30 sooner than later :)

That is likely the route I would have chosen.
If you end up really liking the 26 you will want more Glocks. If not... Well everyone has their preferences.

I've answered similar questions the same way a couple of times: if I could only have one handgun (not that this is a "one gun" thread), and didn't have access to a CZ-75, I'd pick a Glock 30.

I hope you really enjoy it. Don't be afraid to grab a few standard capacity (17) or enhanced capacity (24, 33) round magazines. The 26 with a 33 round magazine is a hoot and a half! I even got good results from my KCI 50 round drum magazine and man it's really cool looking.

I'm not sure if anyone cares, but I've been carrying the 26 daily, and the only negative I have is that I didn't decide to get one sooner. The gen 5 seems to feel "less Glocky" than others I've shot, and suits my 6' 170lb frame to a T. Don't have a 30 yet, but my birthday is just around the corner...so we'll see how that works out :)

Liked the G30 I owned and thought it a very soft shooting .45. FOR ME the G26 was "ok", but not my favorite Glock.

You have to shoot them both and then decide.

I had to use a holster to carry either one so for that liked the G30 better. I felt the 30 was easy to shoot and for what it is worth I found it very accurate. It depends if the cost of ammo is a consideration for you. I reload so for me I like the .45.

I don't like the finger grips so Gen 5 G26 is what I would choose. That and I'm not a big 45 guy, I would take 40 S&W well before 45, but to each their own.

But if you want a 45 the 30 would be a sweet pistol and the finger grips so come off easy with a Dremel and steady hand.
