I would be really envious if my wife hadn't bought me a model 29 as a birthday present in 1984. Yes. I am blessed.

Congrats on that piece and an obviously wonderful wife. (Not in that order.)
PS: Mine loves my 44 special reloads.

Jeff

629 Deluxe that's about as good as it gets , nice gun , nice wife ........I'm gonna show this picture to my wife and ask her honey what's up with the shop vac ..... I want a gun ! ....... I'm just curious how your wife knew how to pick a 629 , a 629 Deluxe no less....Take care and Happy Birthday...

Yeh WestKentucky, they don’t appear to be as “plasticy” as some others I have seen. I still see some Altimont grips in its future.
Pretty sure those are Altamonts. They make a ton of grips for Ruger,SW, Kimber, and colt. The grip style is the give away with that scale/stipple combo. They look nice, how do they feel?

Congrats on the gift though! Sounds like you have a awesome wife!

You might be right on the Altamonts Midroad.....they look like they might be their target design

Kind of funny.....this summer she saw me drooling over the 5” 629, she asked if I wanted it and I said not at the price they (LGS) was asking and then told her what you could get them for. Fast forward to the present, I had really been debating on the 629’s in 4”, 5”, 6” and 6.5” models, I like them all and really couldn’t decide.
I never would have even thought she would have remembered me wanting the revolver she saw me looking at but she ran around to different shops trying to find one that would be an acceptable price and she came across the one she got me. She apologized to me for the longer barrel you believe that? Apologizing for surprising me with an outstanding revolver...She said she liked the wood grips....:D

She made a sensational choice, this is a gun you and her will enjoy forever , the Deluxe's are gorgeous revolver's , enjoy it my friend, and let us know how it shoots

Targa

I love her

You're absolutely right either way! Congrats on having a very loving and considerate wife and for getting an awesome addition to your gun collection! Oh, and Happy Birthday too!

Thank you all for the nice responses....yeh she is a keeper, glad she thinks I am as well...:D.
I plan on getting this thing to the range Monday to shoot and chronograph some of my mild to full house rounds I reload next to my Ruger SBH. Curious how the 6.5” barrel will perform next to the Rugers 5.5” barrel with the same loads, I am also curious how the wood grips will perform next to the Pachmyar’s I have on the Ruger. I will let you all know how it goes
