What is your dream revolver?

Mine is actually very achievable. Rossi Cyclops 8”.

Similarly, the Smith 327PD is pretty high up on my list, but I would NOT want that gun. Make it a 627 in similar format (stainless, durable, pretty) and I’m right there again. In fact, make 2 of them. .357 mag and .327 fed mag.

A well thrashed 6"barrel S&W Model 14 from the property book locker that's been "massaged" by Woody the SO Range master, so it makes one hole groups at 25 yards.

Mateba Model 6 in .454, or even .44 mag. It exists, but will most likely be a dream gun to me.

I'd like to see a modernized Dan Wesson large frame. Alloy barrel shrouds, railed for scope mounting in calibers like 454 Cassul, 500 JRH etc. And of course keeping the user changeable barrels.

I could see a 3-4 iron sighted barrel, a 5" wearing a mini reddot and a 2x scoped 8" being really neat.

I built a 45 ACP S&W N frame back in the 80s prior to the reintroduction of similar revolvers. I used a 28-2 as the base and had the barrel bored and rifled by Dick Nickel (now deceased). I fit an ACP cylinder from a 25-2 and replaced the frame lug with one appropriate for the cylinder. I also rounded the grip frame, a choice I have come to doubt.

Since then, S&W has reintroduced the 4” tapered barrel ACP revolver as a 625 Mountain Gun and the Model 22-4. Both are good revolvers.

I am giving thought to using another 28-2 to build a revolver in 30 Carbine.

I guess I already own or have owned most of my "dream guns". There are a few of them that just aren't going to happen, like an exact copy of the Keith #5, but on the whole, I've been pretty fortunate.

My most recent, and perhaps last, dream gun is a custom 1851 Navy. I have been playing with the Italian replicas for decades but always have wished someone would make them of the same quality you would expect from a custom centerfire revolver. Someone finally did, and I snapped one up as soon as I found out about them. It has become just about the only gun I shoot anymore.

KInd of funny, a while back I dreamed up "Sure would love to have a 45ACP, with a decocker like a Beretta 92!", then shortly
later on came across a S&W 645. Exactly what I wanted. Still love the S&W GEN III pistols.

Now, I think it would be sort of cool, if S&W went half potato again, and made a Raging Judge style, 6" barrel, Scandium finish. Talk about ultimate survival gun...

My pie-in-the-sky revolver right now is a 357/44 Bain & Davis Ruger Super Redhawk with a Bowen-esque GP44 nose job, a Bayside-esque FrankenRuger float tube, 12-14” free floating barrel, capped with a fin type brake.

All possible, just need to make it a priority to save up and build it, instead of keeping it backburnered behind other projects.

I’d really like to DIY my own 480 Ruger large frame Vaquero soon too.

I wish there were more large capacity/light weight revolvers in 38/357 and 32/327. I also wish more small revolvers would utilize quality front and rear sights.
I had an I-frame 32SWL Target Revolver at one time dating from the 20's..AWESOME shooter with adjustable rear target sights and a partridge front sight............
Adjusting the rear sight took one of those small, almost jeweler-like screwdrivers, but with WCs, it was one ragged hole in SA mode. I would think you would want 5"+ barrel lengths to make it worth the added cost.

I'm a Smith and Wesson guy, but the gun I've always wanted is a 4" Colt Python, in blue steel. I don't think the Python was any "better" as a gun, but I just loved the way they look.

When others were all gaga over Harry Callahan's Model 29 in "Dirty Harry," it was the motorcycle cops Pythons in Magnum Force I lusted for. :)

I had one for a short time actually, but lost my job and had to sell it. I got one of the new ones with a 6" barrel, and will be watching for a 4.2 inch one, but I don't think I'll ever own another one in blue.

BTW: That's a Smith and Wesson 581, in nickel in my avatar. It's close to a 4" Python...but it still didn't scratch the itch.

I don't like the way Python's cyclinder release is pull vs. SW's push.

I own an 8" Python in blue and it is a beautiful gun. I've always like the look of full lug more than 1/2 lug.

What is your dream revolver? Do you have it already?
Colt Anaconda, 6". The one I learned revolver gunsmithing on and consequently the first one I timed (successfully) myself. It was way off from the factory. Now it's accurate, finely tuned and simply beautiful, my go-to hunting revolver these days. All it still needs is Eagle Heritage grips to give it Python-on-steroids profile and make it perfect, Colt OEM grips look a bit awkward.

Python was love in first sight many moons ago and it took me better part of three decades to finally buy one. I still slightly prefer Anaconda, .44 oozes authority.
