Sr22

And if the pin ever fails and the stop starts smashing the slide up bad, Ruger will replace the slide no problems.

That’s not an SR22 that’s my Walther PPQ .22. I should have been more clear in my post in response to @zaitcev. The SR22 does not have a steel pin there from what I know of them.

@Dinosaur1 was stating he had a P22 at the start but he didn’t care for its reliability so I was responding to that. I do not own an SR22 although my brother does but has only shot it a few hundred rounds but it shoots well.

wonder how deep into the range count you gotta go to have that happen.

I had a P22 for sometime that gave no problems but #2 grandson weaseled it away from me and says he has had no problems either. I found I missed it and bought the SR22 to replace it. Size and hand fit is pretty much identical between the two. I have had no problem with it either. I won't brag about how well I could shoot them as I wasn't great with either with their factory sights. Mediocre would be a generous description. I have added a dovetail mounted Burris Fast Fire III red dot sight to the Ruger and have found I'm a much better shot with it now. Something about short sight radius, old eyes, and iron sights was my problem. Off a rest I can do pretty good with the Ruger now and would expect to do as well with the Walther using the same sight setup. I can't shoot it as well as I can my Ruger Mark IV with the same sight setup but certainly didn't expect to. These little pistols are plinkers, not target guns.

In the OP's case I would already have called Ruger. If the rifling in the barrel is out of spec they will fix it. No need to buy a new barrel just yet.

FWIW, I replaced mine with a Ruger Standard from the 1980's that was around $300 OTD.

It's a 4" and not bad for toting around to plink with.

All of the sudden I can shoot a whole lot better.
