Hey guys, I just wanted to share a new Ammunition Search Engine website I have just completed development on. I'm not here to be a shill and promote my website, but I feel it could be a valuable resource for anyone buying ammo online as it makes it very easy to compare ammunition prices amongst the top retailers online to ensure you find the best price. We also have email and on-site alerts setup allowing you to set very precise parameters for the ammo you are looking for and you will be notified instantly once said ammo is in stock at your preset price range.

The website is: www.ammobuy.com

We are still adding new retailers daily and are very open to suggestions. Please feel free to contact me and let me know if you experience any issues. I hope you guys enjoy!

Thanks for the kind words guys! The site was a lot of work and I'm working tirelessly to get as many retailers added to make sure we get as much ammo listed as possible.

Tried again, still got NOTHING when I tried to omit steel cased.

That was in pistol and rifle.

Scaatylobo, let me know what browser you are using. I'd like to see if I can duplicate your issue. It definitely works in Chrome and Chrome mobile. Let me know and Ill certainly look into it. thanks!

It works with Firefox and Duck Duck Go mobile browser.

I just had a look, I just scrolled down past all the steel cased, in the "types" drop down there is a steel cased option but not a brass option I think that would simplify things.
Is there a way to include estimated shipping? I looked at one and $19.99 shipping on 5 boxes was a deal killer.
I liked your format, easy to find the calibers I was looking for, I usually look at gun.deal and they have an option for steel, brass and reloaded but its harder to find oddball calibers.
It works fine with Microsoft Edge. Good luck with your site.

Nice but shipping is usually expensive on ammo due to the weight. Picked up 5 50rd boxes of winchester 230gr. at the last gun show for $15 each. Don't find that too often but when I do I snag it quick. It's usually $20ish a box.

It has worked on my galaxy using chrome since the OP.

It does not work with the opera browser

Im going to do some testing with Opera browser now. In the mean time I will add a brass option to the "types" drop down list. I should have it up shortly

EDIT: Added Brass to "Types" there is still a couple steel cased that come up, but now Im updating the "steel case detection" system to try to detect those last few so they get filtered accordingly :)

Ammoseek is a perfect model to emmulate, especially because they show rough shipping cost levels. This is a great time for you to compete with them, because they just remodeled thier easy to use site, and F'ed it up by changing the interface, and making it more complex. I may not use it as my first go-to option any more. Also, if you displayed whether a given site charges tax or not is important, as not all of them do yet.

Just wanted to update you guys. As requested, I have added a shipping indicator for each retailer on each listing. This is a very general indicator based on known shipping prices and can very based on many other factors but mimics that of what AmmoSeek provides. I will be adding shipping filters into the search functions this weekend hopefully as that will help you filter out any known high shipping retailers from the search results. Please let me know any other ideas you guys may have. I can pretty much code anything!

Hey Harvey- The site looks good! I know you said the shipping estimates were rough, but just a heads up, LAX Ammo has the cheapest shipping on 9mm I have ever seen. Under $15 to AZ??!!?? Nice! I am thinking they have an intelligent calculator, rather than the ripoffy blanket charge.

Thanks!

I am using Chromebook and search features are working well.

For my 22LR $15-$20/500 shipped thread, I am mostly using Ammoseek.com and your site returned some results not listed by them so that's good - https://www.thehighroad.org/index.p...15-20-500-shipped.853059/page-3#post-11359991

However, these did not show up on your site:

I just added AmmoBoard as a retailer. Their ammunition should be loaded within the hour! The TargetSports 22lr ammo was actually getting listed under 22 long. Ill get that fixed now!

Just used it to search for .450 Bushmaster and returned 3 pages of results. I like the layout and it is super easy to use. I found the Hornady Black ammo for $21.55 a box. Unfortunately the one retailer I selected (lowestammo.com) and added 2 boxes of ammo with wanted $20 for shipping, which puts it higher than local prices at $29.95 a box.

But then I selected another retailer (Sportsmans Outdoor Superstore) and ordered two boxes at $22.53 each and it was $7.99 shipping. Reasonable. So I went to order it and it wanted me to create an account, which I attempted, but it timed out twice and I kept getting error messages. So, they lost a sale.

I then went to a third retailer, LAX Ammo, which listed the ammo at $21.93 a box and added it to my cart, then went to check out and it was $20 shipping.

I don't think online ammo sales are for me. I wanted a couple of boxes of factory ammo for my woods carbine, that I would shoot, then reload the cases. I don't need a case of .450 Bushmaster and I don't need a case of 9mm.

I gave up after three misses and 45 minutes of wasted time. But I did like the layout and it loaded fast. But there is no such thing as a free lunch when it comes to buying ammo and I have yet to find a deal online worth the hassle and shipping costs.
