LGS has these on consignment. 9MM. $1200.00 for the pair. Consignee doesn’t want to sell individual. America made but can’t remember by who.
Opinions appreciated. 898AC709-3121-4882-9FF7-42386F84D6C4.jpeg 32CFCCF5-785A-43A6-A340-11879A157EF9.jpeg

Yes, looks like a MAC 10 pistol and a MAC 10 carbine. The million dollar question is: are they the semi auto version or full auto version? That makes all the difference in the world!

Two MACs, one side charge modified.

Whenever you see one of these always check to see whether they are open-bolt or not.

In semi-autos, the open-bolt variants are worth considerably more.

They're fun guns to go dress-up crazy on but are otherwise quite crude and seldom worth a second look unless transferable machine-guns.

As pistols - the way most were sold - they make great door-stops.

Todd.

ok I’ve got to go back and ask more questions.
Even ask to handle them. Neither have ever be fired according to the shop owner and his wife.

That’s it, the man said they were Masterpiece Arms, it’s embossed on the case lids. Damn I couldn’t remember the name.
Thanks falmike.

For $1200 for the pair the answer is obvious.

99.9% of the time that is correct. I have seen small mom and pop shops get stuff in that they had no clue what it was or truly worth.

And it is now a moot point considering that they are Masterpiece Arms semi autos

Guys I’m a shooter not a trader. Can you just say right out in your opinion based on knowledge. 1200 yea or nay. I just don’t want to drop $ for garbage. There is so much crap on the net I can’t get a handle on it.

These seem to be Mac 10 clones.

Thanks. Pretty much not that much of a bargain, if at all. The folks running the place are friendly sort, plus the sell a wide selection of sport related clothing, equipment and Ammo.
Think I just watch for a while, if it goes, eh, if it doesn’t I’ll start with a lower offer. Prop said consignee was firm on the price but it just been placed in the shop yesterday. It would help to know what the shops cut is, at least 15% I’m guessing.

I mean, do you want a blowback 9mm launcher with lousy ergonomics and what I have to assume is a lousy trigger and no easy way to improve anything about it? If so, then why not a Hi-Point?

They can be a fun dalliance to get out of your system but I would never suggest that anyone pop for two at once if they weren't already familiar - unless one was a give-away.

Even as transferable machine-guns, they are SERIOUSLY hungry little beasts, especially the .380s. 9s and .45s have a bit of an opportunity to be slowed down.

As pistols, their best excuse is in playing Man From Uncle, Mission Impossible or role-playing a 70's mercenary. You know "... Lear jet SWAT Team - on a midnite run. With the M-16, and an Ingram gun!"

Todd.

Good points. And I really don’t have any interest in the “Pistol” just the carbine. For now they are displayed as a pair. Might change.

If the price comes down enough for me to buy I ‘d probably sell the pistol.

This shop is in a seasonal,Florida, area. By the middle of April there is a noticeable decline in traffic.
Shop owner does have a Gunbroker account however. Of course I’m a “seasonal” also, although a resident come the end of May we are gone too.

Unless the particular architecture appeals to you - I think you'd be a lot happier with a 9mm AR carbine in the long run.

Well you folks have persuaded me. I’ll just watch and wait. I’m not a 9MM fan anyway. It’s just so interesting. Never owned a spray gun before.

Didn't realize someone was still making mac10 clones
Originally they were made by the Military Armament Corp. Next I believe was Cobray, then RPB and a couple others before finally getting to Masterpiece Arms

I need more info on the pair shown. Going back to the shop Wednesday. If they are still there I'll ask to handle them.
Questions need to ask.
Semi or class two.
Bump stock or not. I’ve never seen a bump stock.
Kit guns Or factory configuration.

Anybody think of any thing else. I’m total ignorant of this type of firearm. Closest I have is a M1 Carbine.

Assuming they are semi-auto. In any case, a simple function check sill tell you the truth in this.

Make certain whether they are open or closed bolt. Open bolt will have a fixed firing pin.

As I recall, only a select few and specially marked RPBs were legal as open-bolt.

Make certain that the fake suppressor is in fact a fake suppressor - if not, proceed accordingly and legally.

Try to get them to float an offer to the owner of $925 or less.

If, however, they are legal RPB open bolt guns marked either; S A P M10 or SM10 they are a pretty good deal at 1,200.

In short, see if they'll let you photo the data on the right side and check the bolt faces.

Todd. Thanks man your a wealth of info.
The silencer looking thing on the pistol is just barrel extension. That came up in when the shop owner pointed it out on his own piece. Just gives one some where to safely put the off hand according to him.
