Has anyone used Herter's ammo, it's on sale at Bass Pro and I was curious to its quality.
FWIW the herters I’ve shot recently in 9 and .40 in the black box has a “USA” headstamp and is boxer primed.I used their .380 for target practice, and it was fine. Brass ammo made in an eastern European country, forget which. I seem to recall it was Berdan primed.
It sold at a good price and I didn't feel obligated to pick up the empties.
I've found when they run a sale they won't give me the military discount on top of the sale price. Same just happened to me at Lowe's.Saw in the flyer that came today that starting tomorrow the 500 round packs of Herters 9mm range ammo will sell for $79.97 (limit of 2). 16 cents a round, even before the 5% military discount.
Hmmm, my Cabelas just gave me the military discount on a sale item yesterday. I didn't buy any of the ammo, since I have been "buying it cheap and stacking it cheap" lately, and have frankly run out of room for anymore until a few good range sessions.I've found when they run a sale they won't give me the military discount on top of the sale price. Same just happened to me at Lowe's.
This is from the Bass Pro Website. My experience was at a Bass Pro, I figured they would have the same policy.
Perhaps different items have different discount policies?
