I'm looking to put an optic of some sort on a Saiga 20 ga. I know next to nothing about these. So can I get some advice, options etc? Obviously it has to be one that would stand up to semi auto shotgun recoil. I'd like to keep it under $250 but would consider spending more. It's mostly a range toy but would like to shoot slugs out to 50-75 yards.
TIA

I have some that are well over your budget but the cheapest one I have gets beat on fairly hard.

It’s a $25 BSA, that eats batteries like a kid eats candy and the dot is not quite round but it maintains zero and is still working after more than a decades worth of use, not too bad for something that cost less than a tank of gas.

I like the Vortex Viper for a cheap dot. $179 usually and pretty good equipment.

Sightmark Ultra Shot + and Burris TRS25 for dots under $100.00. Vortex and Primary Arms for under $200.00 Be sure and buy one that has a life time warranty if possible.

If you're wanting a less expensive one, then My go to is the Sig Romeo 5. I have 4 of them on various guns, and we've raffled off guns with them for my VFW. The hold up very well for one of the lower priced red dots. Here is a video review where a guy even freezes one in a block of ice, and then shoots it with a shotgun. I saw this after I got my first, and it prompted me buying the others. I've not been disappointed.

I’ve been an optic snob for a long time. I usually stick with aimpoints and acogs, but I have many friends that have way too many guns and the vortex and sig red dots seem to be the bang for the buck options these days. Haven’t heard or seen a single bad thing. The Romeo 5 can be had at very good prices too.

I’m not a fan of Vortex scopes but like their mini red dots. I’ve had a Razor on my AR-15 for a number of years and it’s held up well. If I were looking for another I’d give the Venom a shot. My turkey shotgun that does double duty for HD has had a Burris FF3 on it for around four years and still works great. The shotgun gets very light use though.

I've had good results with a Burris Fast Fire 3, in the flat top mount. Keeps zero on my Bora BR99 shotgun.

What about the sig romeo 4H?
but at that point I think its roughly $100 from the price of an Aimpoint

If you look around you can find a Romeo 5 for a hair over $100 on a popular auction site that rhymes with PunCroaker.

i bought mine for $106 from a seller called Blackmarket arms

Try the holosun 407c or 507c I've got the 407c green dot
Really like it a lot. Its made in the USA dont let the name fool you. I just ordered 2 more. Im going to put one on my 3030 win.

100 year old rifle, Spanish Mauser, 7x57.
$100 dollar Sig Romeo 5.
Fat old half blind cripple shooting somewhat quickly at an M16A2 Zero target. (looks like a white piece of paper at 50 yds)

I like the Romeo 5...
