Saw a used mini 14 stainless with bayo lug for 699 used( seems steep but I am in ca ) the flash hider had been removed for legal compliance. I know that for a bayonet to fit right I would need something similar to an ar15 flash hider. Would a regular AR 15 comp or break fit the mini for this purpose?
Thanks

We need a pic if possible, none of my minis (14 and 30) ever had a bayonet lug.

stay safe

The older Mini 14’s and AC556 machineguns used a 9/16X24 right hand thread pitch for their muzzle devices.

AR Muzzle devices (for 5.56 caliber rifles) use a thread pitch of 1/2X28” so they (AR compensators /brakes) will not be compatible.

I believe the AC5.56 is what the A Team had. Lol. I think that’s a GB that you have. I thought those were worth some money.

The device on the muzzle of mine looks a lot like a birdcage style that is found on an M-16A1. You'd have to check the threading.

I wouldn’t break the law just to put a knife on the end of a rifle. How about you get a machinist to just drill and tap a hunk of barstock and turn it so the OD will go inside the ring on the knife?

You can legally have a compensator or a brake but not a flash hider, right?

There are probably other .223 brakes and comps threaded for 9/16x24, but none come to mind. How skilled are you with tools? Do you know any machinists or really anyone with a lathe or milling machine? Even a drill press and enough time and ingenuity would probably work.

Yeah correct I can have a comp or break but not a flash hider. I am no machinis. I am basic hand tools that's about it. I was hoping for any easy fi but I think I'll pass
