Hey there everyone. I was rummaging through the hardshell case that came with the Daniel Defense I inherited from my friend. In it, I found a small case containing these two items:

As I've said elsewhere, I'm pretty much a complete novice so I'm not entirely sure what these are. The upper object looks like some sort of key while the lower looks like a muzzle device of some kind...? Yeah, that's all I've got.

I suspect these don't actually belong to the Daniel, but instead originate from his uncle's old pre-ban Colt A2 Sporter II that he owned and had parts laying around for. They probably got mixed up and given to me in the shuffle, but I was curious if anyone here could positively ID them in the meantime.

Thanks guys!

That is part of an evil AR-14 Uncle Joe was talking about!!!!!!!!!!

...it's just a shotgun choke tube and wrench. It looks like it belongs on a tactical shotgun. It probably has a marking on it to designate the size. Just a guess, but "C" would mean a Cylinder size choke.

Well this is embarrassing...

Does the 'key' fit inside the 'muzzle device's?

I'm not a shotgun guy, but it looks like a removable choke and the wrench for removing/installing it.

Wouldn't you know it -- like a glove.

No surprise here. I know even less about shotguns than I do about ARs :uhoh:

No markings I could find. However, I think I solved the "mystery", such as it is, now that y'all have clued me into what I actually have. My buddy briefly owned a TriStar Cobra III shotgun. Looking it up on the website, I found this little blurb: "Removable choke system that uses Beretta®/Benelli® Mobil threads includes one extended choke tube (Cyl), choke box and choke wrench."

Seems that's what I found. My guess is that he left these parts behind when he sold the shotgun itself and they were mistakenly given to me alongside the AR.

Thanks guys.
