Finally! After waiting 3 days for my "instant" background check approval, I shoved my way through the throng at my LGS tonight and claimed these beauties- 8" Model 22 and 6" Model 15, both Monsons.

Ive been on the fence about old DWs for years, but there was no way I was letting these mint examples go, after they made me a good deal on the pair.

They had a couple of vintage Pythons in the case too, and I tried them back to back with snap caps- the M15 was just as smooth in DA and had an even better trigger break, IMO.

Beautiful! and nice pictures. Will you be able to make the house payment? :)
Ive had them on layaway for awhile (before Coronapocalypse) and I paid them off Saturday. If I had seen them fresh for the first time today......I dont know if I would have pulled the trigger given the situation. Still, $800 for both was pretty hard to pass up. Besides, guns are really just money in gun form, right?

The shop I found them at usually caters to the tacticool crowd so I have gotten good deals there before on milsurps and wheelguns.

It was a madhouse today, and I got alot of curious and longing stares at my wood and blued "not-Glocks'" lol.

Absolutely gorgeous, bet they shoot as well as they look. Please post a range report when you can. Looking forward to it already.

both Monsons.

Monsons are the best. My 15 is easily the most accurate, slick revolver I own. People can say what they want about the Pythons, but I'll take DW anyday.

Unfortunately I haven't had the pleasure of pulling the hammer back on a DW. The only place I've even seen one locally keeps ALL of their handguns zip tied so you can't cycle the action. I got them to remove one for me once but they watched me like a hawk to make sure I didn't dry fire it. And that was a Uberti Hombre. It's still in the case for over a year now.

You have what I believe to be THE finest production 22 handgun ever made. There are better custom guns, and some which could be argued to rival the DW, but I have yet to hear an argument that holds water that says that it’s not the cream of the crop. Beautiful revolvers.

$800 for both? You should be on your way to jail for that. Either one of those on GB would bring $800 by itself... the .22 because of it's rarity, the .357 because it looks like it was in a museum previously. Good catch!

I had a Model 15 for a while, it was a nice shooter but it had some issues, so I sold it off to buy my .41 DW... but I'd love to have a nice Model 15 again, someday.

Awesome guns man! I picked up two DW 1911's last year and they really have me wanting to look into their revolvers. Congrats and enjoy!

Before seeing this one, I didnt know DW ever even MADE a rimfire!

Its certainly the heaviest .22 handgun Ive ever hefted.......makes my M17 feel like a cap gun.

Be sure to shoot those Dan Wesson's

They're not poodles
They are Chesapeake Bay retrievers born to hunt born to dive into the water!

Oh, ya, I dont think its its possible to wear these out, but Im going to try!

Be VERY careful ejecting fired cases... you don't drag the extractor star against the frame. It's the DW version of the 1911 idiot scratch from the slide stop pin.

Dan Wesson made the .22's in stainless and blued, with either a heavy bull shroud or the lighter trim version. Always liked the idea of a removable and interchangeable barrel assembly. Bought an extra shroud, machined the vent down for Kimber quick release bases and rings. Gave the ability of popping off the scope for iron sights use....and could restore the gun to it's original state with the additional shroud.
