So... lots of places are closed and there wasn't much to do today, so I stopped by a pawn shop. They had an pretty nice example of a ruger single six in the display with a $369 price tag on it. They had a lock on the trigger guard so I couldn't check the lockup, timing or trigger and it was missing the magnum cylinder. I told the guy that if I couldn't work the action to check it out and the magnum cylinder was missing, I'd be willing to take a gamble on it for $200. He wanted $300, so I passed on it.
Went further up the highway and stopped at Academy Sports just to look around. I'm looking in the case and see a Ruger Wrangler. I'm thinking, "man, I really need to subscribe to a magazine or something." I had no idea that Ruger even released such a thing. When I saw the $199 price, I took it as an omen.
Man, this thing is nice. It has that utilitarian look to it that I love, it's very light and handy and build about as well as a .22 needs to be.
I guess you can't have too many .22s.
