Things to Do Firearms Related While Self Quarantined At Home

I have some cases and appropriately sized foam that I am custom cutting to hold powder hoppers and reloading tool heads with pre set dies. I'll probably work on that too.

I was goofing around on THR while keeping an eye on my cellphone, anxiously awaiting a text message telling me the new Smith 638 I ordered from a LGS on Tuesday was in - they told me 3 to 4 days. Unfortunately, the text message I received just a few minutes ago read, "Just letting you know your gun is on its way. Shipping is a bit slow." I can't imagine why!;)
Oh, well. I guess I'll just goof off on THR a while longer. Then maybe later, I'll drive down to the gravel pit and pop off a few rounds in some other gun.:)

I've had the flu or a cold every year of my long life. Somehow, about 6 years ago I stopped having these illneses. Go figure. I now have bronchitis so if I get the Corona stuff it'll probably kill me.
We went to the store and I bought a case of the Corona Anti-Virus beer and I plan on drinking some of it after I reload a bunch of brass. 38, 357, and 9mm. Yes they were out of toilet paper. :) Fortunately I already have a 3 month supply of TP and lots of bullets and primers, and powder.
Lets hope the nasty illness goes past then we can go out and shoot again.

That sounds great. I started keto a couple of weeks ago to drop a few pounds, and that means no alcohol. With this whole trapped in the house coronapocalypse thing going on, [in my best Steve McCroskey voice] I picked the wrong week to quit drinking. LOL.

I've got to go get some 125 gr 9mm lead and primers to load more 9mm. I'll watch the back yard for wood chucks, saw my first of the season Thursday, to eradicate. Then a starter in a jeep liberty.

I'm going to be building a new Bench with a power vent and hood for casting in my gun room. Then I won't have to do it when it's not raining and I can set up on my picnic table out on the patio.

I've got a few AR lowers to build, plus two 1911s I've been meaning to tune up. Reorganize the gun room, inventory ... Reloading, if I get the time/quiet with everybody being at home. And take the younger kids out to the back yard for BB/pellet target fun.

Will break down Ar15 for the first
time to clean& lube. I watched a few Utubes about removing the bolt.... I’m ready to proceed. It’s been a while since I cleaned a firearm. Ah.. the sweet smell of Hoppes#9

We've got cabin fever already, so we're going to the woods tomorrow and do some shooting.
They say don't get within 6 feet of other people, hell we may be 6 miles from the nearest human. Aint no coronavirus deep in the woods.

There's plenty to do around the house as well. My reloading area is a mess and needs to be cleaned/organized.
If the sun stays out long enough to dry the ground a little tomorrow, I'm going to mow the lawn for the first time since last year. It's driving me crazy but it's rained for 11 straight days.

And I have a 30 page paper to get finished by April 2 in my upper level writing class.

I should have enough to stay busy. If my wife and daughter can stay sane I'll be okay.

Where I'm at in the mountains of NC I can confidently say that there is about 2x the traffic and bustle that there was pre-state of emergency last week. Every store parking lot is full too. Schools were called off last week so I think everyone is just running away from their kids. They will have a better respect for the teachers now. I WAS going to buy a 550 box of winchester 22 at the local Walmart for 15 bucks but nobody ever stopped to sell me any. If they would just sell the toilet paper from the sporting goods counter.....they would never run out

My work is still up and going and my wife is medical personnel so the only change for us has been finding child care. I do have 2 sigs to put triggers in and a Chinese lever action shotgun (and a stihl chainsaw) to work on if we do close.

Oh it's not funny. Lol. 3 times. 6 or 7 years ago (maybe more) they had a clearence colt 6920 in Boone NC for a hell of a deal. I saw it on a trip to the coast. They had just implemented the computer system for nics and no body could get it to work. So I left without it.

Last year i was in Bristol TN or Bristol VA in a walmart near the race track (hard to tell which side each store is in) and they had .40 on clearence. It was cheap. I was going to buy every box. Again. Nobody would sell it or "didn't have a key".

Luckily this time I found 12 guage estate shells for 1.50 a box and they werent locked up. I texted a friend and asked if that was a screwed up price. He said no that they got some in for that price sometimes and they would ring up at that. The 9, 8, and 7 shot are 6 bucks but the 7.5 are 1.50. So I guess it wasnt a loss. I'll feed some of them to the previously mentioned Chinese lever action 12 when I get to working on it.

I've got a large amount of once fired .308 to resize, trim and polish. Whilst i self isolate i don't have to stay indoors as my nearest neighbor is a mile and a half away and i live out in the forest. As the weather is set to be fine for the next week I'll be out with the chainsaw and brush cutter. I'll fit in a bit of practice with the .22 plus there are wild boar to hunt. I don't think I'll be bored in the near future.
Forest dog, is there a season for wild boar in Sweden, or are they considered pests like in many places in the US and always open to harvest?

Trying really hard NOT to spend a bunch of money on tools and gun stuff. All this extra time to browse the web and actually open those marketing emails? Will I succeed? Probably not. Already bought a used Tanfoglio Witness Elite Limited... With a Gold Team upper so I don't really have money to burn on machine tools and tooling, but I've got projects and a rotary table for my benchtop mill would really be nice! Actually a new mill would be really nice too, but not until I have a piece of land and a slab on it.
