I’m enjoying my new Charter Arms Undercover and it will be finding its way into my daily carry this summer. The only issue I have is quick acquisition of the front sight.

I’m looking for any specific recommendations for a highly visible, durable paint that I could try to create some contrast and speed up my sighting.

Thanks!

How do you like that Charter boot grip? Get a good secure grip with it?

It’s working for me. I did try the full-size combat rubber grips, and they were very comfortable but it added too much length for concealed carry (for me). I’ve been shooting it with +P loads with no real problems.

I used the white then neon orange nail polish on my EDC Taurus 85UL. I carry it in a leather IWB holster 18 hours a day and EVERY day. That nail polish has lasted nearly a year. I shoot that particular gun semi regularly as well. I used cheap dollar store nail polish.
My daughter informed me that some of the dollar store stuff is the best nail polish she has. I think I am gonna try some on a few sights myself since I am out of model paint. Thanks for the review.

Cool, thanks. My next revolver, assuming we all get thru this Chinese Flu thing, is going to be a Charter, maybe with the boot grip or maybe not.

While I was out getting some groceries (and practicing my “social distancing”), I stopped by Dollar Tree and picked up some nail polish. They didn’t have any white - and I wasn’t impressed with the orange, so I went with red. Front site acquisition is definitely easier, and for a dollar I have enough polish to last me a lifetime, even if I had to repaint it everyday!

Thanks for all of the input!

Looks good in red...

Since enamel paint is dissolved by some chemicals that I use on my handguns (mineral spirits, primarily) I always use nail polish because I do not use acetone on my bench.

They make flat nail polish colors, btw. I got a small assortment from Amazon about a year ago and losing the shine improved the condition of my front sights.

As mentioned already, be sure to paint your color over a white base. :)
