A while ago I posted a thread on ideas for maximizing space in a safe, there were good replies and ideas.

I decided on Allen gun socks, and what a great thing they are. They have allowed me to maximize space to allow 7 or 8 more guns in the safe without worry of them touching and damaging each other that was jam packed before.

So far they fit everything except scoped rifles and pistol grip AR, but I used them to half cover those. They do fit a AK fine though.

These socks have bought me time to not have to buy another safe, and now I am more likely to shoot the guns way in the back because it's a lot easier to move them around.

If those are the same things I remember, I've had some. They claim to have corrosion inhibiting fibers...either way, they should breathe well enough for a safe dehumidifier to still work. I'd be hesitant to keep anything stored in the hard case or the cushioned soft case for long though.

I've used them for years. A few gunsocks--Browning have the vapor releasing stuff that fights corrosion. Some have silicone treatment so they do not absorb moisture which can rust a gun. All are fine with adequate humidity levels.

The guns in soft cases and my guitars in the hard cases been in the safe for years never had a problem, I don't have a dehumidifier but run AC year long 71 degrees when I'm home, 74 degrees when I 'm away. I'm in Florida

I grew up in Miami my parents never ran AC, it was windows open and ceiling fans even in summer, I saw what humidity did to our guns back then oiled even, sooner or later where the gun was touched or held, rust started.

Some things change some things do not, these days I run a AC no matter what having grown up without it, but even to this day I still hate Lima beans just like I did back then when dad forced me to eat them before allowing me to leave the dinner table.:)

I have gun socks for every rifle and handgun, made by a variety of manufacturers...probably all in China. Although they claim to be teflon-treated, I spray them again. Then the guns are sealed in Zrust bags, by type/caliber. This may sound like overkill, but I have never found any indication of rust, even after 2-3 years of storage.

I have one allen sock that I use for my stevens 311 double barrel. I think they are nice as well
